Hi all,

Whilst i appreciate Tupac was a great rapper and entertainer if you really know anything of his past and the things he has done i thinking saying only the good die young is stretching it a bit. He was involved and active in some very dubious activities before he found fame with his Music and became wealthy. Good is just not a word i would associate with him and his lifestyle.

Plus of course the numerous conspiracy theories that he isn't actually dead as has released more records and Music since his alleged departure than before his alleged death.

Marc

what are you talking about, he came from a bad background to preach about peace.

Most of Shakur's songs are about growing up around violence, racism, problems in society, and he was trying to promote a peaceful society.

he was gunned down in a drive by in Las Vegas. plenty of independant witnesses.

Let him Rest.

hi Batesie, reading your post i realized that word-for-word, you just as well could have been describing John Lennon, whom i admire very deeply. (As you know he was also gunned down!) If i may humbly say so, take time to soak in the music, writing, etc of an artist before discrediting his "goodness". Am not familiar with Tupac's work but i'm sure that as with many other artists, he was admired for his music (or is it the lyrics?), than for his lifestyle. Many artists are moral failures in real life but it's the idealism and the inner struggle that we appreciate.

@Batesi
I decided on the topic,Good die young from the beautiful song he did with the Outlawz.Listen to that song if you can.We all have our pasts but remember this:Judge a man by his actions,fully,throughout his whole life,from begining to the end.

To be-honest, Tupac was the only rapper I could appreciate, some times his lyrics had really good meaning. A great poet is somthing diffrent, however. I wouldnt of classed him one of the "greates poets ever," however rapping is a diffrent story

RIP any way

tupacs music is still as popular as it always was. How many of todays rappers will be listened to 11 years after their death?

Posted by nicv27
another point a lot of todays rappers are trying to be 2pac (50 cent,ja rule,etc).
Most of them have either done cover versions of 2pac hits or quote his lyrics in their own songs.
