Is the volume of w960i's speaker louder than w900i??? cuz w950i's volume was ultra low!
N,
What if w960i gets spoilt n we need to re format it,
will everything from the hard disk go or only from the phone memory?

Not tried formatting the phone just yet but there is an option somwhere, will update you soon on that.
Volume is definately louder than the W900i, this is the loudest
so far without doubt.

The W910i was not very loud i thought!!
The W580i is louder than the W910i, bear in mind it was a prototype which i got quite early!! that may change when released.

When you say loud, you're talking about the speaker I'm guessing?
What about the volume through the headphones? I'm finding maximum volume on my W580i not as good as my previous phone, the W810i.

peter, regarding as the loudest sony ericsson by far, how loud is the w960 compared to P1i? as imo, the letter is quite satisfying after a disappointing P990/W950
and also, how does the bass do in loudspeaker? is it good enough to kick the ringtone?

the W960i is louder than the W910i and W580i and W880i through headset! and is louder than all through the speakers, much louder.

Nope the W960i is not louder than you wind up radio as that cannot be compared with
However if you want to swap the radio for the w960i, i will add cash my way
@wlz, i have not played or tested the N95 and don't think i will cos i am not a fan of Nokia
phones!! Sorry about that.
Wish i had a tool to test the loudness of the W960i, apart from my ears i have no other method!

Both pics are animated when viewed in Picture viewer but when applied as wallpaper they do not animate, same as the P1i and W950i. Finished work early so just tested it.

Great News - TODAY screen is available!
Just found an option to enable the Today screen
There is a standby option in device settings where you can have either the
feature or Business feature, when you enable the feature the Today screen hides away, when you select Business option the Today screen appears!!
Sorry for the confusion folks!! So the W960i is not just an entertainment package a but a Business tool as well

The W910i was not very loud, the W580i was louder through the headset!
Saying that the W910i was not complete in my eyes.

a w880 is quite loud, but no bass which is quite a pain in the ears
imo, p1i is good and loud enough, if pand peter says w960 is better than p1i, i'd call it the day to stop searching for an excuse to my wife as to why i want to swap my p1i for a w960

could you take some detailed pictures on the led, on the bottom of the phone,
would like to see how the led is behaving in different situations.
Like, when does it twinkle and when is it permanent,
colors, brightness, intensity and so on.
I know it's just a small detail, but anyway

Who cares about how loud it can go?... You're going to damage your hearing, or REALLY go deaf if you listen to music on the maximum setting of any device... Who uses the maximum setting anyways on their mobile music devices on a regular basis? Gone to a doctor recently? Bothered reading the warning label that comes accompaning all headphones sold? If you need it that loud anyways, then turn on the speaker (and go get a hearing aide, I bet that'll look really cool with your new Walkman phone...)... I personally have a W850i and rarely go over 3rd bubble on the volume indicator strip on the phone, because unlike all of the other posters on this thread, I apparently want to retain my hearing into my silver years.

well, i agree to some extent. It's true that a powerful speaker is good to have, what with being able to hear the ringtone in a loud environment, and of course the exclusive satisfaction of showing off some of your 8gb worth of music.
But for the headphones, i totally agree the best is achieved with reasonable volume. High volumes only serve to create distortion and spoil any good music.

same here peter, i acyually quite hate nokia cuz there's always gotta be a problem wid deir phones after 2 months usage,
i was asking 2 xompare with n95 cuz my bor got 1 and its pretty loud(although i still prefer my p990)
sorring 2 be annoying but, how loud does it compare 2 w950?

Would it be able to open large word files? Like about 300 pages or more. And huge Excel files too? I heard some the pages are truncated on some other phones.
