The Garmin Mobile 10 package works great on UIQ3. It consists of Garmin's GPS10x Bluetooth GPS receiver and the Garmin Mobile XT GPS application (which looks just like the Garmin nuvi series UI). I use it daily on my W950i and it's awesome!

What map does ot come with? and where can I purchase other maps? like from south america.

It depends upon the country you buy it in I believe. I know for sure that it comes with either the North America maps (if you're in the U.S. or Canada), or the European maps (if you're in Europe). I also know that Garmin has a version of their City Navigator maps for South Africa, but I don't know if you can get them bundled with the Mobile 10 package or not. You might want to check Garmin's web site (http://www.garmin.com) or give them a call.

EDIT: Oops! You said South America and not South Africa. I'm not sure about that one. You'll need to check with Garmin to see if they even have maps for South America.

EDIT #2: The only maps I see for that area are for Brazil. See here:

http://www8.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/citynavbrazilnt.jsp

Also, here's the link to the Garmin Mobile 10 page:

https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=9796

Note that Garmin's Mobile Buyers Guide (located here: https://buy.garmin.com/gmbg/start.faces) indicates that the UIQ3 version is "coming soon". However, I can assure you that it is already available (and has been for quite a while now). You can download the Mobile XT UIQ3 app from here:

http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3589

You can actually download and iinstall it on your P1i now just to see what the UI looks like. However, it won't fully function without a Garmin Bluetooth GPS receiver (either the GPS 10x or the GPS 20SM). No other Bluetooth GPS receiver will work with it so don't even bother trying.

Thanks a lot pal,
So the only thing I need is to buy the Garmin GPS bluetooth reciever.
I'll give them a call to find out where I can purchase maps from south america.

Well, you'll also need the maps too. That's generally the most expensive part!

Do you know the rate?

I am a newbee!

I got the p1i and the garmin mobile xt. I download it on the phone and then when i try to install it, it says "this may not be compatible with your phone do you want me to continue?" I say yes and nothing happens! What am I doing wrong? I will say when starting to use the install cd, it asks which type phone do you have but the p1i is not an option. What do i do?

Thanks

I have TomTom Navigator 6 on my P1 and use a CPIT GP-27 GPS reciever ( http://www.cpit.com/en/GP-27.html ) seems to work fine - if a little slow at finding satellites to start with LOL - don't use it very much but it's never let me down when I have...

@Flyinpreacha, are you sure its the UIQ3 version that you have bought?

what phones does it list?

Posted by Flyinpreacha
Thanks for taking time to help. Yes it has an option for Symbian UIQ 3.x. The phone list under it includes the M600; P990; and W950. Please help. Even the people at Garmin are confused.
