No 3G access - Esato archive

I have just bought an unlocked P1i and have put my Three sim card in it. I have the settings for mms and internet. The problem is that I am in an area covered by 3g but for some reason I can't access it, even though I have selected GSM and 3g searching. Any suggestions why i'm having problems?

Is the 3G symbol not showing, the blue and white wavey symbol by the signal strength?

That symbol isn't showing, but on my N73 I get full 3g coverage.

try different SIM, if it fails to get 3g, the P1i may be at fault

Try to remove SIM and insert it again.
If not okay, try to make manual search and see if the results listed 3G networks or not

i dont have p1 but i guess there is an option that allow you to access 3g(just like in my k800).,

is p1 set for umts and gsm or maybe just on gsm?
