Master reset code for Nokia phones? (6233)

I've just recieved a Nokia 6233, which was supposedly fully working. However, after trying to change memory cards in the phone it now will only power on to the standby screen briefly, before flashing white screen, flashing the standby screen up again as if restarting itself, do this a few times before switching itself off.

There's a master reset code or something for Nokias, it's something like holding down the '#', '3' and red or green call keys when powering the phone up - what is it? I'm hoping that might reset the phone and kick it's arse into powering up properly.

If not, is someone able to reflash it for me? I've tried the Nokia updater, but that requires the phone to be switched on fully to work, which this bloody thing won't do!

the trick you are thinking of only works on nokias symbian phones sam.

as does *#7370# etc

not sure there is a code for the series40 phones unfortunately. Will need to get it flashed

Had a feeling that would be the case - can anyone help me out with the flashing, as I'm not set up for Nokia flashing?

*#7370# works only in symbian fones ( s60 )

Cheers Whizz, though the seller's just emailed me back after I told him about the fault, saying he'll give me a full refund when I send the phone back to him, so will now be sending it back.

I'll PM you if I get any more Nokias with firmware faults though if that's OK!
