Hahaha oh man. Read it. I made that concept myself and I originally posted it here on Esato. And yes, I based the shape very slightly on the K660i, not the iPhone at all! If you want to see it, its in the concepts and photoshops 2008 thread a few pages backwards.
BTW: I left a fairly long-winded reply on that website. If anyone wants to know more about my concept, have a look!

Muhamad-oli,
forget it man, some apple fanboy is desperate and wants to associate everything that hogs attention with apple one way or other.
Your PSP concept is sure a "like.no.other" stuff

Didnt Sony just say they ant working on the playstation phone, was all over most game websites a few weeks back
Posted by goldenface
^^They say a lot of thing. This hinting and then denying and hinting and then denying may just be to ramp up hype and publicity. There will be another 'hint' coming soon.
Posted by nneo
now pspfanboy.com is saying that muhammad-oli's concept is the sexiest concept (or fake psp phone as they say) made to date

UPDATE GUYS, could this be the key to the new psphone???
(source, pspiso.com)
While everyone may have their own opinion about whether or not Sony IS cooking up another version of the Sony PlayStation Portable (i.e. the oft-rumored PSP Phone), it seems that one of the most prominent figures in the handheld's homebrew scene has found a clue that might prove that future model's existence. That figure is none other than Mathieulh himself, and that clue is the string "kd/pspbtcnf_03g.bin".
What's so special about this seemingly-random string of letters and numbers, you ask? The key lies in the annals of history, namely firmware version 2.71 and 2.80. Those who have contributed into the construction of custom firmwares have discovered in those versions the string pspbtcnf_02g, which apparently suggest the support of a new hardware or at least a new operative mode.
With the PSP Slim & Lite's release, further investigation revealed that 02g is actually that handheld revision's codename, with the 2 and g probably standing for the second generation. By that logic, what would 03g mean? Yep, that's right - a new generation of the Sony PlayStation Portable. A quote from Mathieulh's post, verbatim:
We believe it is the same with the 3rd generation hardware which they are now preparing for sure. Will it be yet another lighter (and pandora proof) psp or will it be the new psp phone? Time will tell.
There you have it, straight from the Sony PlayStation Portable developer's mouth. Keep it locked right here for more developments.

Just read an article in the new Sony Magazine...
Interesting.
Posted by goldenface
And this in Sony's own magazine too?
Posted by Lunion
Yes it's Sony's own.
Posted by not_me
sony has got an official magazine
and why do they write about angelina jolie in a bond movie(which is a rumour, which was popular 2 years ago !!!!) doesn't have anything to do with sony
Posted by Lunion
I bought the magazine from an authorised Sony dealer.
http://www.sonymagazine.co.uk
If you don't believe me, email Sony.
Plus they write about Angelina Jolie because the new bond film is made by Sony Pictures.

Since we're getting closer to that PSP Phone launch (or maybe not) wouldn't you like to know what all the concepts were for this device? Here's an idea of mine - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsuKbE5O2nk , as I gathered all the PSP Phone concepts I found. Did I miss any of them?

It is a great phone and looks goodtoo. But it would be betterif they interchanged theposiyion of the dpad and the gaming keys.

Today there's a new patent describing another way Sony Ericsson may go implementing PSP phone idea:
http://www.unwiredview.com/20[....]y-ericssons-own-iphone-patent/
The phone would have almost full front surface as a touchscreen and use orientation sensors and software to switch between PSP/Phone/Walkman/Cybershot modes.
Game controls will also come as on-screen softkeys, with tactile (haptics) feedback.
Pretty neat idea, and I don't see any reason why the likes of Xperia X1 or upcoming P5i can not gain PSP functionality, once the software is ready.

If you have ever played P800 to P910 games you'll know how bad a touch screen is for gaming. They would have to have proper buttons and if the games are fast paced, the screen would be ruined in no time. Just watch how people play on their PSP and PS3 machines and you'll get an idea of rough people can get.

I'm sure when/if PSP phone comes along, it won't be as good as standalone PSP console.
Almost no standalone device is. Converged device will always have some compromises, and won't be as good as a dedicated gadget.
Touchscreen technology and responsiveness of the touchscreens still has some ways to go too. But it's getting there, and should become very close to the real thing soon.
Then, if you add something like Hapticos technology, that Nokia has is working on: http://www.redferret.net/?p=9533 , it might become quite an attractive proposition

i hope it looks a whole lot better than that patent example

Gaming phone in full touchscreen phone was a bad idea.
Not comfortable to play, and the phone itself will not survive in 3 months if played by hardcore gamers

Looking more and more like reality.

If it has PSP quality functioning I shall be purchasing

I believe the best option is for SE to integrate Sony's PlayStation Network to every SE phone instead of releasing a standalone PlayStation phone.
Like Nokia did with N-Gage.
Posted by Muhammad-Oli
NOTE: The probability: 35%. Proving its just a mock-up.
Posted by harry20larry
@ Vein
Note in article, due to miniturization, the PSPhone will have to store games on the memory card or transmit them through WIFI. Anyways, UMD is a dieing format, wait for BLUMD
Posted by kimot01
at least we have 35%, as long as it's not 0%, it's ok

real or fake?

If you read the thread you'd know its fake.

GREAT DESIGN!! Hope people from SE would make it true. I like this concept badly, its damn good.
Posted by wiraperkasa
i think the dpad should not look like psp button(or controller??)...it should resembles a dpad + psp button...it should somehow look like a phone and should funtional as a controller(psp button??)

Heyyy That is True.???? I cannot believe it, god I wanna a One

More rumblings regarding the PSP Phone. Plus, rumours of a frosty relationship between Sony and Ericsson.
Sony plots gaming phone with PlayStation branding
Sony is understood to be mooting the launch of a PlayStation-branded phone, calling into question its partnership with Swedish mobile company Ericsson.
It is thought the phone will incorporate elements of the PlayStation Portable (PSP).
It is understood the phone could hit the shelves in time for Christmas 2009.
Sony Ericsson currently uses Sony sub-brands Walkman and Cyber-Shot camera as key features of its phones.
Sources in Japan and Korea say Sony is working on converting the current PSP model into a phone. Analysts say it would be “relatively easy” to convert the current PSP as it already incorporates wi-fi.
Sony Ericsson launched its F305 gaming phone to a mixed reception last week. One analyst says it is “strange” that the model did not include the PlayStation branding.
Another industry source says the relationship between Sony and Sony Ericsson has become “frosty” and he adds that Sony has learned from its “strategic error” of giving its Walkman branding to Sony Ericsson.
An insider adds that internal conversations have already confirmed that Sony would “never give its PlayStation branding” to the Sony Ericsson joint venture.
Sony Ericsson was formed in 2001, and reported a 47% fall in profits for the first three months of the year. It is in fifth place in the handset market behind LG Electronics and Nokia, which is the market leader.
But Sony Ericsson global head of marketing James Marshall says the company is still in line to hit its 10% growth forecast for the global handset industry for 2008.
A spokesman from Sony Ericsson says the handset maker “never comments” on future product announcements. Sony PlayStation declined to comment.

Hurrayyy! There's finally a patent to speculate on. It seems that we're bound to see a PSP Phone after all. And a touchscreen one...

Yeah but why is it even in Microsoft Word?
It would be a PDF or even just a jpeg image, not a Word document. I doubt SE would even use Microsoft Word to make the specs list in the first place. They would use something more like Adobe InDesign.

I doubt there'll be a psp phone after the f-series announcement
