I don't like it ZAPF MEGABASS because you have to use very low base in player in order to have good music (not nuk nuk bass)

try sunfires v7 they are pretty good!

Is it possible to mod the sound recorder so that it will record in better quallity?
or is the microphone limited?

I just recorded my self playing the guitar with it, and it sounded pretty poor.

so i was just wondering

no unfortunately it's the limit of the hardware. The best you can get is amr.

Posted by herbellis
what's an amr?

Posted by max_wedge
it's the codec the phone uses to record audio. I'm pretty sure the audio stream coming from the mike (through analog to digital converter) is a 16bit mono, 8Khz audio stream. This is at the hardware level, so you can't patch in a better codec to improve it - even if you used mp3 or aac encoding, you are still limited to a mono 8KHz stream. That's like a maximum 12Kbps, that's pretty lousy audio quality

Oh I see, thanks for the details. I'll just use my recorder than

Does anyone have the template to view .zapf on WinHex?

I'd really like to edit handset_0_call.zapf, to get higher volume during calls.

Or does anyone have already modded it?

hi all,
wanna ask a question here...
might sounds stupid, but it's very urgent for tomorrow...

here is the case : i used to mod my K800 acoustic w/o any problem using XS++/ this time i gonna try to mod my W550 acoustic too.
already found it from one source but i just want to confirm that is the procedure to change acoustic is the same each other??

i mean can i use K800 method to change my W550 acoustic?
cause i ever heard that different CID will have different method...
now this time i need to ensure it before bad things happen to the W550...
:respect:

can we put k610 acoustic on k800?

Posted by testuser9
can u send kimot s acoustiocs?

Posted by kimot01
anyone?

Posted by kcng
whitehacker, it sounds just the same as stock K800 acoustics. Modded K790 still the loudest for loudspeaker for my K800.

Posted by petrutms
i have the stock k790 drivers and are OK. no mods are good. or too much bass, or too much treble... no one is balanced.

i found the W880 acoustics for the k800i to be very handy. Yes it's louder but when maxed it does pump alot of bass and distorts a bit with a hissing sound but to counter balance that when i have my headphones on i jack the volume down to a little on the phone and pump the volume up on the headphones to give it some leverage to play around with.

@Kimoto

Can you tell how did you edit zapf files?

Did you get the template to edit them in WinHex?

please answer me =]
thanks

Posted by vladn02
I'd have to say I'm very happy with zapf_v2_sunfire7, they do have alot of treble but they are very good, sound is so much of a personal preference its going to be hard for us to agree on one AMAZING driver.

@petrusms
Could you please share me the stock K790 driver? What firmware is it?
I have downloaded it before but there is a few files, not the whole.
Thanks in advance.

@chadiwrx
Waah! Thanks a lot. I'll try it.

Posted by shuyin1946
i think that K790i acoustic will be the same with K800i cause is R1KG001 firmware. The best acoustic i heard is from older firmware if i m not mistaken is R1J something. I heard it on K800i with that firmware and i found it better compare to newer firmware.

@Kimoto

So, as you haven't answered I can assume you haven't modded anything;
just mixed files.

its better inform people that its not a mod, just a mix of files.
And better say which acoustics you have mixed. Than people know whats in it!

Hello!

To everybody that have been waiting for a louder volume during a call!
Peter's loud call

1 - Download the file on the link above
2 - UNrar it
3 - With FAR - Delete the file handset_0_call.zapf under IFSsettingsacoustic
4 - Copy the modded handset_0_call.zapf to the same folder
5 - For those who use XS here's a zip with the file structure get here the pet loud call ifs.zip

Hope you like it! Its louder enough for me!

Cheers!

edit:

**For those who want it to be even louder! Carefull, sound gets too loud, may distort sound at max volume

Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

say hello to my first acoustic pack!

Peter's_acoustic_V1_for_K800

Change log:
Louder earpierce volume [volume during a call]
Louder + more bass in loudspeaker, but without interfering other phone sounds [such as camera focusing sound, video record start sound, bt events that get distorted with other acoustics mods ]
Increased microphone volume
Good sound quality+louder volume with earphones

Instructions:
upload all files to acoustics folder under ifs\\settings\\acoustic\\
Don't forget to delete the original ones before copying the new ones

Posted by rockygali
what do you mean when you say louder?! whats your comparison?!

is it with the stock driver or with Xaero Ma, or with any other tweaks?

Its loud as W880 acoustics on K800.
BUT, it's not W880 acoustics.

If you really want to know, it was a Jack The Ripper work, and frankenstein..
cause I analized every single acoustic pack that I have [all on cybershot.4shared]
than I started analizing the sound of every file on K800, from those acoustics
than I modded my self the files
PHF's are all modded
some farfield's are modded w880 ones, some are modded K800 ones.
Handset is mine mod too

W880 acoustics sound good on K800.. but they are not meant to K800 backspeaker... and I think the variable resistors are not the same. That why a hybrid K800 stock driver, with resistor values changes and some acoustic compensations from W880 are the best.

Changing the same values, on different stock drivers [like K800 and W880], produces different results.

My opinion is that W880 backspeaker is bigger and powerfull than K800, so it can use better acoustic equalization. [there are some compensation lines to every single range of frequency]
But as K800 does not have that speaker, if you use those equalizations, it will distort sounds on the phone [not music.. music is ok]

I'm working now in how to kepp W880 equalization to music, but without distorting phone sounds.

Hope I answered you doubt!

nah Peter.. no doubts here.. just curious on how did you manage to get a mod. and i was hoping there were such logs as of the camdriver to track were we have left... or sumthin closer to it..

but since you laid it out in detail... then im good. ill try some of these.

congratulations to your mods.

Posted by pedrops
There's no such record on acoustics... =\\

All I did was test, compare, mod and test again. Still trying some things...
If you'd like to mod yourself I can tell you what values you should change

Cheers!
