It's great to see some 3G progress in the US (the real 3G, not CDMAs first version). With AT&T leading the way for 3G I hope to see T-Mobile and Cingular enter the race.

What are you getting so exited about... Don't u know that Monet mobile in the US has a 6 times better network (CDMA2000 x1 EV-DO) operating fully now? It provides a data rate of 2.4 Mbps while WCDMA provides only 384 Kbps... And the WCDMA network will be ready in about a year...

Yes, that are pretty impressive speeds but their coverage area is NOT.

That must be why Monet Mobile has so many more subscribers than any other carrier....not

rj> I'm haven't been very impressed with AT&T either but I give them credit for going over to GSM and now for their 3G efforts. When talking to T-Mobile I get no answers to my questions - they don't seem as anxious about 3G as AT&T or maybe they just don't talk about it. I hope AT&T puts this to action and that it's not only bs.

AT&T is actually going to EDGE next year with 384Kb/s and then off to WCDMA with max speed of 2.4mb/s. Since at this time AT&T is the only GSM company that has plans to move to WCDMA (which provides a strong signal penetration) I think the tables are going to turn next year. AT&T will probably be the only true 3G GSM provider in North America when their done with it.

amagab, i suggest you call the tech2 dept of t-mobile. you dont sound like a happy t-mobile costumer. i can PM u the digits i guess.
wcdma ...i guess people would be more interested in 3g gsM.

one question AT&T users!

what can ya'LL say about CiNGULAr's 800mhz towers? if this comes to kali, where i'm located, most of U will migrate since THE MAIN reason of costumers signing up for AT&T is for better reception.

i do admit that At&t's reception is one of the best in california ONLY.
