A teenager was taken to hospital after overdosing on espresso coffee.
Jasmine Willis, 17, developed a fever and began hyperventilating after drinking seven double espressos while working at her family's sandwich shop.
The student, of Stanley, County Durham, was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham, where doctors confirmed she had overdosed on caffeine.
She has since made a full recovery and is now warning others about the dangers of excessive coffee drinking.
Ms Willis, who had thought the coffees were single measures, said the effects were so severe that she began laughing and crying for no reason while serving customers at the shop.

She developed a fever and began struggling to breathe after being sent home by her father.
"My nerves were all over the place.
"I was drenched. I was burning up and hyperventilating.
"I was having palpitations, my heart was beating so fast and I thought I was going into shock.
"I did not realise this could happen to you and I only hope other people learn from my mistake."
The teenager, who was allowed home after a few hours of observation, suffered side effects for days afterwards and now says she cannot stand the sight of coffee.
Her father Gary, who runs The Sandwich Bar in Stanley, said: "She did not realise she was drinking double measures.
"I have always stressed to my children the importance of moderation but Jasmine got caught out on this occasion."

Wow. I heard of this happening before.
Mostly at work. I drink about 4 coffee's and roughly 3 Lucozade Energy (not the Sport one) drinks in a typical 7 - 10 hours shift and if I'm on poolside teaching. I'll either take some cans of Red Bull or 3 bottles of Lucozade Energy on with me depending on how long I'll be teaching for. Usually go through 2 bottles of Lucozade Energy in an hour when teaching.

I have one cup of coffee a day. First thing in the morning, just to get me going. If I need an energy boost due to working long hours, I'll have a mountain dew.
One cup is more than enough for me, otherwise I get jittery.

I used to drink several cups of instant coffee at work from 6am till 1.30pm,
oneday I felt ever so dizzy and nearley colapsed to the floor so it is true caffeine affects us in several ways
I don't drink coffee anymore, just tea or alot of water which is better for you anyway

It seems as though people seem to love either coffee or tea, but never both. I'm a personally tea fan.
But anyway, I feel for the girl, but it does remind me of the calculators which can tell you the max number of Starbucks expressos that could kill you (relating to your weight).

i usually have about 5-6 cups of coffe and go thru almost half a pack of cig's in an 10 hour work day....
may be i should cut down.

I hate coffee but love tea. Mind you I cant really drink caffine anymore due to tablets I take, so its de-caf tea
