some new pictures.

an image of P3

and this is a real WALKMAN.look at the specifications from the picture

The cyber-shot phones do really look photoshopped (also, SE is going to use new soft-key layouts... these on the concepts are the old ones). The only real concept is the W990... I think. I mean, SE usually does these kinds of image ad (typical SE pic composition).

Well, just looking at the text of the concept, "New! K1 The first touch-screen cyber-shot phone!", raises some suspicion... that's not in SE's style.

Posted by NightBlade
Either way, if they do announce K1 on Aug 14th, I am SO getting it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by max_wedge
the w990 add is definnitely photoshopped - and too unprofessionally to be legitimate imho.

Posted by cipri
what about Sony Ericsson A1 Chocolate model?

Posted by NightBlade
No way the W990 is photoshopped. I mean, look at the details - how it perfectly fits in her hand, how there's a reflection of her thumb on the housing, the shadows AND let's not forget that this pic is some 2-3 months old. We didn't know about the new softkey layout then.

any picture should be made to look good for customers.the picture is making to look good.exactly how girls from playboy magazine are processes to corect their body and to make it look more perfect.here is the same thing with the w990,thats why it fits so perfectly in her hand,to look better.

Posted by NightBlade
And that's why it should be an original SE concept.

Posted by cipri

Posted by NightBlade
Even if those concepts were real... I'd never buy them (the phones, that is).

Posted by bodum
sorry guys, but those are just plain ugly. the most obvious reason they'd never make it past the drawing board is cos' they're just cut and paste jobs from the existing lineup. why doesn't anyone at least photoshop something original anymore?

why does anyone want a touchscreen cybershot phone anyway? the original K line does it perfectly, and the P line's cameras aren't that bad as well. i don't see SE making any touchscreen K series phones in the future, considering the ergonomics would be serious trouble even for pro-users...

Here's why:
We like touchscreens.
+
We like cyber-shot phones.
=
We like cyber-shot phones with touchscreens.

See my point of view?

Posted by bodum
i'm not denying, it's not an implausible concept. we have for example, camera's with touchscreen (sony N series). however for a phone to have both cybershot functions and a touchscreen, that would be a touch too far. the point of K series is to make a phone that's easy to use for both beginners and experts alike, hence the button solution would be the most logical way to go.

furthermore, people would expect more from a phone with touchscreen, UIQ for example. an UIQ touchscreen cybershot would be too much to handle for the normal user who just wants a point and shoot device.

so in my opinion, the only way SE could implement touchscreen in it's phone is to come up with a brand new OS, not UIQ or anything else. a 'dumbphone' with simple click and shoot functions, so to say. and how many of the K series target market would adopt a touchscreen? 5%?

it's just not a feasible business idea at the moment, that's what i'm saying.

I own both the K750 and the K800 and my friend has a w810
K800 takes thebest pics of all, followed by the K750, W610 tookthe worst pics in my experience

Posted by razec
The Idea of a cybershot phone with touchscreen is possible. this is proven by the fact that There are three sony cybershots on the market that have touchscreen (T50, N1, N2) and SE has a phone with TS which was the Z558. but the picture of the K1 posted here looks fake and the designer didn't think even a little regarding the key and touchscreen layout algorithm to make it realistic.

Posted by c96sthl
the picture on w990 is confirm faked

It was posted before and I asked ... someone did a comparison and the piture of the girl is taken from W610 or w660 if my memory didn't fail me

if you want to know more...go to sonyE web portal and look for the picture gallery for w610 or w660

sony ericson W970

The pictures are photoshopped rather than blurred pics of a real device, but the quality of the images lead us to believe that this may indeed be a real Sony Ericsson phone rather than a fake.

this is the new sony ericsson k818

Everyone's favorite phone leaker, the FCC, has let slip a new Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot phone, the K818. Remember the K810? The K818 is it's half brother, featuring a 3.2-megapixel camera on board with zoom, auto-focus, brightness control and the BestPic shooting mode that captures a range of nine pictures. With the K810 presumably just headed to Europe, this might just be an American version that drops the videophone connectivity to keep us from hurting ourselves, as this version is missing the prominent camera on the face of the K810.

It supports Memory Stick Micro (M2), just in case you don't like using the industry-standard memory cards that many computers come with readers for, and it has USB for transferring data. It's also a music phone that can handle most formats as well as being loaded with an FM receiver. No word on release dates, but the FCC gave it their approval so it shouldn't be too far off. We'll keep you updated.

this is sonw ericsson w900

W900i, a new device that looks to be the first Walkman flip-phone. It will supposedly have 300MB of internal flash memory, a MemoryStick Duo Pro port, Bluetooth, A2DP support (aka Bluetooth stereo headphone support), external speakers, a 2 megapixel camera, and EDGE. So basically it'd be the Walkman phone that has pretty much everything hardware-wise that people have been asking for—hard drive and 3G excepted.

I think this si a fake, but maybe is not.

A waterproof cell phone, and the great Skype tease

It was just introduced in Japan, so it may be some time before you can get your mitts on this waterproof—30 minutes at 1 meter—Sony Ericsson SO902iWP+. But still, isn’t nice to think that such phones will one day be available? And isn’t funny that the whipper snapper author of the blog where I found out about this phone calls the waterproof feature “useless”, adding “we’ve never really seen the point of waterproof gadgets unless the manufacturers are actively targeting people who make a habit of dunking their gear in toilets.” So cute! We’ll politely not call him an idiot, but simply note that our very first cell phone died dead from just a wee splash of salt water. We like waterproof.

Meanwhile Skype, the king of free computer-to-computer VOIP telephony, is offering free calls to any landline or cell within the U.S. and Canada until the end of 2006. That’s going to please some cruisers who like to use Skype over WiFi along the coasts, as is Skype’s plan to offer a “SkypeIn” service whereby you can purchase a phone number that friends and associates can use to dial your VOIP system. Perhaps the wildest concept: Set up your boat with an amplified and marine antenna’d cellular high speed data card and unlimited service, and then use it along the coasts for e-mail, Web access, and phone calling using a cordless Skype phone like this.

not to sound rude or anything, but why is this thread in the rumours section? most pics are OLD photoshops (we have the photoshop thread already for these) or already known phones.

should be locked or moved to garbage

Sony have released the NW A800 Walkman, there will be three models in the range the NW A808, NW A806 and the NW A805, these models all share the same technology, the only difference being the size of the memory, the NW A808 has 8 GB, the NW A806 has 4 GB and finally the NW A805 has a modest 2 GB.

The Walkman has a two inch LCD display, which will support the playback of H264, MPEG 4 avc files, MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV and of course the audio format of ATRAC3 and ATRAC3 plus. The screen is quite capable of displaying jpeg images in clear and full color. The power is provide by a Lithium Ion Battery pack, which will be good for up 30 hours of music listening and up to 6 hours of video playback.

We've known about the softkey concept for a lot longer than three months, there have been quite a few phone rumours mention the new softkey concept (and a few pics).

The hand holding the phone is superimposed on the picture (it's smaller than the hand in the background, and a different skin tone) so the shadows on the phone can't be from the girl in the picture. The thumb shading, the shadows can all be easily photoshopped, the phone screen could easily have been photoshopped and the phone body itself (and the hand holding it) could have been spliced in from another picture of someone holding a different phone.
