Try to use auto focus, the distance was to near from ur camera, more than 1m or 2m then use infinite focus.
auto focus? does it reduces noise? i thought it was the noise that is problem in my picture and not the focusing?
Bcause i saw ur pic got little bit loss of focusing.

this time with xenon flash.

Yes, wif flash, indoor use flash is better.

okay, but it seems like there's noise still.

Okay, i will change it first.

okay, it's night here now. and i think night pictures are better than daylight ones.
Posted by genus
after i change the 3.2 potrait setting, copare to normal mode, the potrait almost having the brightness same with normal mode but is less clear than normal mode a bit.
Posted by kimot01
i think i'll stick with version 2.8

1.original driver from R1KG001
2.and Kop 3.3
1.document mode with daylight balance
2.document mode with daylight
3.landscape with stabilizer and daylight balance
4.landscape with stabilizer and daylight balance
5.document mode and daylight balance(kop 3.3)
Posted by limzm
nice comparison. kopritis' v3.3 seems much enhanced!
btw, anyone knows where are the settings to the ISO without xenon?
night portrait mode is too bright with xenon.. esp on white objects.

milan, why do you always use document mode when taking macro pictures instead of just turning macro on in normal mode?
Posted by milan91
Because, for me, document mode is better for macro pics
Look difference, both pics with Kop 3.3
1. document mode, with auto balance
2. auto mode, with macro, and auto balance

Document Mode use ISO 100
Normal Mode use ISO 400
That's why Normal Mode is Brighter for macro pictures.

with the 3.3s before taking indoor pictures there's noise in the lcd screen how come?

One major difference between document and macro in normal mode is that the AF led lights, and that in document it doesn't. Looks like this confuses the phone when it AFs because the orange light gets reflected (and it will get a stronger reflection in your audio jack converter since it is shiny). If we could find a way to turn off the AF led in normal mode... I tried doing that once, but then the phone camera crashed when I tried taking a picture. But I'm pretty sure it's possible to turn off the light though. I just didn't try enough.
Or even better, we need manual focus

Yes, but document is better macro mode, not only for shiny objects...
I understand you, but AF led is good for some situation, but its not good for macro shots...

ei! guys.. is kopritis 3.3 cam driver just for only k810i??
coz after uploading this driver to my k800i i experienced zoom bug during video rec mode??..
so i think 3.2 is better..
thanks...

Yup... I got that zoom bug too. Maybe It is because 22fps.
Just wondering,what's the different between R5 & R6 camera version ?
Is it R5 for K800 & R6 for K810 ?

I still get the zoom bug in 3.3! BUT we dont need zoom for video recording, so it doesnt bother me (what the hell can you see if you zoom even 2x on a 177x144 video??) Bestpic is OK, so i dun care for zoom. You can puch the FPS further, as long as it doesnt affect bestpic. 3.0 was VERY good in sharpness. i'll test 3.3 tomorrow.

Hi! I want a driver version where the pictures are very good quality. Don;t want so good videos but the pics should be the best! Which do you recomand? 3.3?

Guys, I notice some complaining about extra noise when ISO is at 400. If you want to use a larger ISO setting get used to it, there's nothing you can do - especially in low light. All digicams suffer increased noise as ISO increases, especially camera's with small lens. Read up on ISO if you want to understand why.
Has anyone really been happy with any of the mods they've done? About the only mod that makes any real difference is playing with the sharpness setting. I think increasing the sharpness makes for less natural looking images and is not suitable for everyday shots. Increased sharpness seems best used for macro shots - in which case you can use document mode.
Everyone's got their own personal preferences - that's mine.
I have not noticed any great difference by using 95-100% compression. And, It really doesn't make any sense to me why photo's get smaller in file size as you decrease the amount of compression used. I'm struggling to see what the difference is in the 2mp photos when the buffer size is set to 900kb. All I see is a bigger file.
For now I have reverted back to orig cam driver as I would rather reliability over tweaks that offer very little improvement. Most imprtantly, it seems there is no way address the lack of anti-aliasing in this camera. This comes down to firmware/hardware. But, the more I look around the more I see that other camera phones suffer the same issue - although not quite as badly or frequently as the K800.
Lastly, if you guys what to be a little more adventurous I reckon you could write you own macros to set various sharpness settings. It shouldn't be too hard. In the orig driver all you have is a Normal and Document macro used to set EV and sharpness. So you could get the scenes (property 16 of the drive to use different settings if you like by calling dife

I agree with your analysis mongoose. I still don't feel my camera suffers a huge amount from aliasing, but it's just very noticable because the K750 camera really didn't suffer from this at all. But K750 had the bad white lines, something that I've never seen on other camera phone pics. So maybe it's some kind of trade-off they thought it better to have aliasing than white lines?
Many people rubbished the K750 for it's white lines, maybe SE wanted to make sure they wouldn't suffer that criticism in the K800 (instead they now suffer criticism for aliasing and water colour filtering!!)

Actually the culprit is small sensor (with high MP, the higher MP the more noise visible in all ISO setting, especially the higher the ISO). And yes all small sensor will require small lenses. That is why I always stated that 3mp is more than enough and unless sensor technology catches up we may have to live with the noise.
Posted by max_wedge
actually, it is all digital cameras (all sensors, but especially cmos) that suffers from noise problems. It's inherrant to the nature of digital camera technology. No matter what the camera, you will always get an increase in noise with an increase in ISO. It's EXACTLY the same scenario with film. Higher ISO = more graininess.
However, the better quality the sensor, the less noise you get. Just like the better quality film you use, the less graininess at high iso's. It's not the size per se, though smaller sensors are harder to make at high quality, so CHEAP sensors are always small and crap. However, as technology improves, it becomes possible to make smaller and smaller sensors for the same quality (ie: low noise). So you can have smaller sensors, but if you want the same quality, the sensor will be much more expensive.
For example, my K750 has a much smaller sensor than the old Powershot 350 (VGA) I used to own. Yet the K750 sensor can 2MP pictures. If you resize those 2MP pictures to VGA, they are MUCH better than the powershot, with NO noise. So the K750 smaller sensor, can actually capture more usable information than the larger VGA sensor of the powershot.

I would be very thankfull
BTW.. if its possible to have auto focus, with image stabilizer on Snow/Beach mode, can't you add that option to normal mode?

its clicks nice pics
as far as video is concerned I don't create too many vdoz.
nice effort guys
Now one question.
which one is better then 2.7
coz these days I am hardly finding any time because of work to test any driver

#COM_EVENT(56,03) // sharpness DONT DO NOTHING
#COM_EVENT(06,09); // exposure to 09
makes no difference and sports mode exposure is messed up so i created
Sport_scene = #COM_EVENT(55,00) // Reset contrast
#COM_EVENT(56,02) // Sharpeness 00 to 08
#COM_EVENT(06,02); // Reset exposure
to fix it

i heeded mongoose's advice and used back stock drivers, adjust a few settings and viola - better than what i had expected.
Posted by rockygali
i do also thinkin about that.... the stock drivers addresses to those major photo needs very well... tho sometimes it misfires...
and the answer to those misfires are these modded drivers.
whats pulling the modded ones down is the inability to adapt altogether other feature of the imaging phone... like BestPic.
so its anybody's ball game right now....
Posted by limzm
yeah, I changed normal mode's sharpness to 05 and it seems to suit me best. and this setting applies to all other scenes like portrait and twilight portrait.
I don't mind the zoom bug on the video because I don't see the point of zooming during video recording. furthermore, it's 176x122, what can u expect to see with zoom? unless we are talking about optical zoom then it may be a different case. and BestPic is now bug-less for me.
Posted by max_wedge
digital zoom is a lot more useful in video than in still photography. Because the image is moving, it's not so evident how grainy the zoom is, so can actually be used to good effect on small resolution video recordings
Here's an example of what I mean, recently the visit by the USS Kitty Hawk on the way home to her grave (or life as a floating hotel maybe?):
in the first video you can see the camera's normal video, without zoom.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKmt037Jv0Y
Here's the same scene but using digital zoom:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-GI6wQ78tI
It's definitely worth using.

Digital zoom is complete useless. I always have it off on my k800 and my other real digital cameras. I donīt see any good use of it unless you have a camera with a lot of pixels. You always get a lousy image.
It is better they put in optical zoom instead, but it will take more space in the phone.
It is still a long way to go untill SE old K700 slogan "Phone meets camera" wil become real. But it is going the right way.

I agree with you bjorndan, digital zoom is pointless. I never use in my k790 or my Canon Powershot SD1000. It's optical or nothing at all. I couldn't care less for that zoom video bug the 25fps tweak makes up for it.
