Constantly waiting for improvements, though.
Keep it up, Kopritis!

Hey Juming!
I tried your camdriver, and its also good!
I don't know if you have a sense login... but here I put a picture from Number1, Kopritis, and yours!
http://forums.se-nse.net/inde[....]wtopic=14624&st=20#entry159977
The thing I noticed about yours is that it focus much more faster than others.
Just the video with 30[?] fps is bad... ALL video driver with more than 17 fps have bugs in video rec. There's no workaround, K800 can't handle 30fps.. everything gets lagged. To stop recording is so annoying.. it doesn't stop... half a minute later only.
@Kopritis
Your camriver is veery good. The only thing ir the colour that I think they get a little bit dark.
But I can't say this for sure, cause light conditions vary a lot in seconds... so the pics didn't got the same light....
Juming - Faster focus, good color
Kopritis - Great overall quality
Number1 - Very good color, it got more well focused photos with this one.
But now Kop is working on a new one... so let's wait and see!
Posted by rockygali
you almost had it done pedro!
but heres what i see...
Number1 (2.6)
- your shot gave more light to the subject, because the reflection on the disk, shows you hand and the shirt your wearing.. reflecting on the light coming from your right backside giving it more light on the subject resulting to a cold color.
i guess the results would slightly differ and will likely fall onto like those of Jumings driver.
Kopritis (2.9)
- indeed the driver has alot of sharpness and has this warm color. but with the sharpness enhanced jaggedness appears. on all the edges of the subject. good to see more sharpness and the warm color goes well. just hate jaggedness. but thats about it..
Juming
i guess its at par with Number1's driver same color... but i think.. well the way i see it.. its a nodge sharper than Number1. overall.. these drivers are great...
NOTE:
Photo comparison should be always leveled to the original camdriver.. so that we will now how far we have come in re-making that driver..
GOOD JOB Pedro!

Hi, I decrease the FPS to only 20 FPS, and it's far more controlable zoom, but video result will not comparable to 25 or 30 FPS, but still some improvement compared stock driver.

Can anyone get a copy of the cam driver from a T650? I thought it might be interesting to compare it. After all, the W900 driver showed we could use a JPG retry.
Posted by skylineR35
i was wondering why there's no one modifying the videocall camera driver...
LOL...
but it'd be nicer if someone could create java apps that could snap pic using front camera..
Posted by rockygali
that would be a great idea... and also the only reason why no one cares to modify it is because its just a vga cam. no further mods can be done.
but the idea for the front cam to take pix would be brilliant... of course with vga quality.

Kopriti, can you please post your next driver with the original video recording mode (without 35FPS) ?
I still find 35FPS zoom buggy even though I set the zoom value to "01".

Dude. kopritis found that 25FPS has no zoom and crash bug. Even bestpic is running fine. so shuss

One Small information. Sony Ericsson, has lost the battle for best 5mp camera. n95 is the best 5mp camera.
Read this.

Hmmmm..... mobile-review gave a different answer. But from the looks of it, I also think SE lost to Nokia in that comparison. Hope that camera is not the final and best tweaked firmware .

hmm if K850 lost to N95 its okay cause kopritis are ready to mod the K850 cam driver!
but strangely, why there's no night pictures K850 vs N95?
Posted by rockygali
maybe they had the review at noon or early morning... didnt haf enuff tym to take it at night...
prolly much more interesting... N95 will lose it no doubt.
but i think there were low light toe to toe shots...

Good suggestions. I like your idea. Now I use "kopritis ver. 2.9". I can't wait for further improvement.
kopritis your the man... Keep up the good work....

someone thinks about implementation of Enchanced modes? you have AE level and shutter speed registers. try it...

MEGAGHOST means "always work" not "always turn on". In some situation, the flash light is needed even the light condition is good. So it's good to have an option to "force flash on".
Posted by genus
From 2.8 driver and 2.9 driver which both i have tried it. I was found that the 2.8 driver do more sharper than 2.9 driver, when the flash is on. Since 2.9 ISO is reduce to 320, there is less noise can be seen, but the photo become more darker. Besides that, the picture taken using 2.9 driver seen do not do well in white balance ( flash on ), the picture got little bit yellow in color.. but now i'm using 2.8 driver, overall it is good and better than the 2.5 driver. (^.^)
Hope that incoming driver will have more improvement in contrast, white balance. Anyway, thx a lot.

xenon forcing is possible at 99%
more info in:
- register b
- seq_set_prop_e_4
- seq_get_prop_17
in seq_init
$sb 04
#COM_EVENT(5a, ...)
and small changes in seq_get_prop_17 should always force xenon

An actually i've said to w0ng:

You can't compare the pics actually, as I said on the post there, the light conditions varies a lot..
To compare the quality of the pictures taken by diferent drivers, you have to reproduce the same conditions every sample you take [basic rules of a scientific test], or at least the closest you can get. For that you'll need a controled enviroment, artificial ilumination, shot always from the same position, etc etc etc...
Anyway, I'll wait Kopritis 3.2, than I'll make a new test, maybe this time a more acurate one....
And thats truth... to compare things we have to do a scientific test, reproducing the same conditions
that little difference in light could have caused Kop driver to get darker
anyway, I'm waiting Kop 3.2 than I'll make a better test =]

I know it won't be as good as 30 fps... but that zoom bug, and stop delay are really annoying... the zoom I don't care a lot, cause use zoom in such a bad resolution is terrible ^^
But stoping the video on the right time is crucial...

I see, anyway if that is your concern I already make an camdriver that operate exactly like you want (cause I'm personally also almost never using zoom), it's set at 25 FPS on normal shot and 20 FPS for night shot, everything can be stop at a time but sometime it lag just 1 second only. Also zoom can be done with little lag.
One caution, don't try your video just after phone started, cause the processor still busy doing other thing such read your phonebook, SMS and M2 card, so it will lag very badly, just wait about 1 or 2 minutes after phone switched on, and everything will be fine. later I'll post on here.

wow! so many things done... but the fact is still there.. K800/810 video is hard to control... so many dangling webs put together...
i guess ill hafta stick it out with 2.9, the one that has normal vid setting.

Hm.. I think the last driver I'm posted shoud be an 'normal' in term responsiveness, except it has 20 FPS as a bonus instead 10 FPS default

Yeah, this is really going somewhere!
About the video thing.. maybe, just maybe, when we get the access to MAIN as we do on FS.. than maybe we'll be able to do something about video.
Till there, the only acceptable mod is increasing [b]just a little bit[b] the fps.
I wonder where is the guy who said "35 fps without bug"
hehe

Man what a bad idea they had....
Not a good comparison at all
why don't they take pictures in motion?
why don't they take pictures at night, on the street?
why don't they take pictures in a party?
why don't they take pictures that can actually reveal something?
^^
