Sorry, I don't see any real improvement apart from maybe some more sharpness. It's too hard to tell as the 3 photo's are at different angles and probably lighting conditions. BTW, download the full size images and view them at full size and you'll see Jaggies all over the leaves of the palm tree in all three shots. Zoom in and you'll see they are everywhere. I'm pretty sure palm trees don't come with zig-zag leaves. Thanks kopritis for providing an image that demonstrates the jaggies in a K800 image. See, it's not just my K800. The K800 camera sucks.

I actually did some sample shots today with my very old fixed focus 1mp camera and it doesn't suffer jaggies at all. In fact it's 1mp images are superior and you can zoom in them far more than a K800 3mp image. The K800 camera is a joke - it's a gimic that fails to deliver on it claims of being a true digicam. Don't get me wrong here either, from what I've seen the N73 isn't any better - but it doesn't suffer the jaggies.

I'm still to see any driver that offers any real improvement. As far as I'm concerned the K800's 2mp images are better if you've modded the driver to increase their max file size and compression.

Hey everyone, if you're going to post modded drivers can you be a little more professional and update the comments in the driver as well. It sucks to look through a driver and see the original comment about a setting only to find it has been changed by someone who couldn't be bothered updating the comment. Not only is it lazy, it makes it very hard for others to see what settings are being used. Therefore, making it harder for others to possibly improve.

Nice. i was just thinking about that. its like u've read my mind!

Ok, I thought there would be some kind of ISO settings. I should have read better the whole topic...

Now another question that [c3] is asking too : What version of this camera driver supports the 30fps video recording ?

In case someone doesn't change the comments, just use ExamDiff to find the differences between the original camera driver and the modded one

I've got no idea as the K800's video ability is crap. Even at 30FPS no one would really give a toss as it is still too small! Really, just give up on it for video - it sucks.

i agree, but i admit that with 2.7 there are some signs of improvement in this particular area of video...

Thanx for the driver big K the video recording is great apart from the zoom issue i dont know if youre aware of it or not? Ill post some pictures with 2.8 and 2.9 of the same object. U cant notice a big difference but it is there

Here is my 2.8 photo

And this is the 2.9 one

U can see the difference between the two, the noise is till there, but the 2.9 one looks sharper.

thanks kopritis

good job kopritis. Did you tested the 20-25FPS video? does it crash? Yes the videos are small, but they look "good" on the phone in fullscreen.

Fantastic - can you give us an idea of what's changed?
Was I right - have you reduced the sharpness?

yea i put it back the sharpeness to FF and i "play" with other settings...

kopritis - haven't had a chance to try the 2.9 driver.
Downloaded it and noticed that you've decided to increase the sharpness again.
Any particular reason for this?

Comparing this to the unmodded 2.5 driver there seem to be a lot of changes.
Would you be kind enough to give a very brief explanation to those of us who are not as good at this sort of thing as to what settings you've changed and why?

Thanks for your time and effort for all your drivers.

Picture taken using the 2.5 unmodded driver yesterday.
I personally think this picture looks awful.
Does anyone know why things on the left hand side of the image seem less in focus then the middle and right?

Posted by tucurel_day
k i think 2.9 is good but i think that you could make another one without the zoom bug with normal recording sry for my poor english

Do you want blury pictures at night??? i think not... thats why 05 to sharpeness.
The only thing that i've change in 2.9 is sharpeness, compression, iso setting and video recording.

wow thanx a lot kopritis .. it looked really great.

btw..is there a way to get better quality sound on the vid? [sorry if its a dumb question]

U guys have made great improvements, Has anyone tried:

fixing issues like the blown high lights and washed out colours?

maybe even getting the image stabilizer to work in all modes eg. so the auto focus can be used too for more consistantly sharp pics?

Thanks for the great idea! I will try to fix the image stabilizer but not for all modes! Only at auto mode and night portrait....

Thanks kopritis for the 2.9 Driver

i tried 30fps its not that good the normal video Driver is better IMO

Again Thanx

Posted by herbellis
I do hope the pictures i posted are really from the 2.9...

You see,
according to the hidden k800i menu, my cam driver is still 2.5

However, I did use XR++ to transfer the cam driver to its folder. and removed the battery afterwards..

Edit: sorry for the x2 post

Posted by tucurel_day
yes and i have noticed that 2.9 focus almost instantly with is very good even in low light the focus is made vrey fast compare to the last drivers good job man

Posted by [c3]
im loving 2.9, it would be great if you can add the 35 fps to it, then it would be the ultimate 3.0

Posted by kopritis
i wonna test that 35fps video... and then i will post the mod 3.0

i saw this line on that 35FPS driver...

Code:

<file-operations>
<file-op parse-mask=\"fa\" op=\"copy\" source=\"usb/other/camdriver0.DAT\" dest=\"ifs/settings/camera/camdriver0.DAT\" attr=\"r\" />

is this sumthin like a patch where i can just copy test driver on a certain folder change them whenever i want?!

how bout portrait shots....

on my K810 sometimes portrait shot with flash on makes the skin glare...
for the flash also reflects back on the cam from the skin...

Posted by skylineR35
i have not try about the portrait shots...
however i'll try to shot some pics if i have time...

btw i think previous pages have some comparison, but it does not include the 2.9 one...

Posted by rockygali
yes.. im very impressed with 2.9

just need more sample shots to convince me... coz right now im fairly satisfied with my 2.5 stock driver for K810.
