x820

seems u100 is 1 mm thinner then x820

U100 has been available for a while and was announced back in Feb
I can't imagine them getting much slimmer myself although I do recall another news item about paper thin technology being used for mobile phones in the future

Does Samsung cover snapping as part of the warrenty? I looked at one in a shop the other day and it felt like you could snap it in half easily

Next there gonna be micro-scopic.
These phones must be so easy to snap!
IMO Samsung phones all look the same!

A VERY common problem with this phone is the "board bends" and when that happens the repair shops dont even waste time trying to fix it.
You can bend the board with 2 fingers....

A friend of mine had a Samsung X820,after only having it for a month after cricket practice he mistakley sat on his skul pants where his phone was,the X820 snappd in half just under the screen, honestly do we realy need such thin phones, my W880 felt WAY too thin so i gave it to my Mum since she likes small phones.but WOW this is OVER DOING IT
Posted by $herry
I agree with u one hundred percent! w880 is as slim as a phone should get. anymore is just pushing ur luck...we want a phone not a piece of paper with buttons drawn on it
Posted by tk338
Yeah, I like my W880 but i'm always very careful with it, but any thinner and they get uncomfortable to hold.

it's hard to get a really tiny fone...especially if you have big hands...haha! it's more fragile than ordinary fones..

i would never get a phone this thin. Normal thickness is fine for me. There was that phone the same size as a credit card, a samsung i hink! What next, a phone as thin as one too? And you can keep it in your credit card bit in your wallet?

the phone is very strong and durable.
I have the x820 and dropped it three times on concrete and not a single scratch.
It's not as easy to snap as you'd be lead to believe.

This is ridiculous! The w880i is the best balanced slim phone available and anything beyond that is just plain crazy.
Posted by bombadil
that's 0% grip. butterfingers beware

*sighs at ignorant comments*
All of you people who open your mouths to comment negatively probably haven't even TOUCHED the phone.
The phone is well balanced, has AMAZING specs, is durable and easy to use.
I'd take this over the SE walkman and it's tiny itsy bitsy buttons.

i had x820 for a half day, but i was usually afraid of to loose it, cos i get used so much to feel "weights" in my pocket and at x820 i had to check my pocket every 5 mins...

@amnesia- different people have different tastes. I don't have to have used the phone to dislike its thinness. It may appeal to you like a BMW may appeal to me and not the next person even though the other person may have not driven it- it's termed personal preference.
Posted by abbafan1972
I would need to have a case round that, as it looks so fragile!
Posted by $herry
Ignorant? ahem ahem..i had the x820..it was a good phone no doubt, though a bit lagging in interface and features..but it WAS fragile...i cracked the screen...maybe urs is a SUPERPHONE...not a scratch after three drops on concrete...a human would crack but not ur phone eh?
Posted by QVGA
the fact that the phone feels fragile in my hand(doesnt matter if it isnt) is enough for me to not buy it

@EMS, it's fine to have different opinions, and people on the forum who know me see that I always fight for people to share their opinions.
But what I don't like is when people treat their opinions as fact.
@$herry, if you've been around long enough on this forum, you'll see I review many mobiles for esato.
Sarcasm aside, on my trip to Shanghai, someone spilled beer all over the phone. I was so worried, but due to how tightly sealed it is, it worked fine and not a single problem with it.
Actually I STILL have the phone. (I'll take some pics of it if people wish)
I am an SE fan all the way, but when I see a good phone, I am unbiased.
As for the NEW 5.9mm, the UI has been updated.

I have touched the phone and its paper size is no an issue because the phone is absolutely fantastic. Whosoever is criticising must have fallen in love with another device. To me it is the thinnest ever.

Even if its a piece of paper with drawn buttons, suppose its the most expensive paper.
