Oh % I think I've lost my K800! Errrrr. just found it again!

Just gotten back from work and I can't find my phone! I'm sure I had it when I left work, and I now can't find the damn thing!

I've checked in the car, tried ringing it (though the problem is it's set to vibrate only), looked in all my pockets and round the house since returning and can't find it anywhere. I have a nasty feeling it's fallen out my pocket on the way to the car at work - I just hope it doesn't rain tonight and that it doesn't get wet if that is the case.

I'm weighing up whether to ring O2 and get my sim blocked or not, especially as it could well be somewhere at work or somewhere blindingly obvious! Might wait till tomorrow morning when I get to work and see if I can find it.

As a result, I could be needing another phone pretty damn quick and pretty damn cheap! I'm gutted, this is the first time I've ever lost a phone if this is the case, and it's my beloved silver K800i

i bet you left it at work. dont worry at all. did you make some calls while you were driving?

Posted by Sammy_boy
No, didn't make any calls or touch it, have had a look in the car - under the seat and by the side of it, couldn't see it anywhere. I've tried ringing it just in case I can hear it vibrating somewhere but no joy there either.

I've just started a 'wanted' thread for a W800i or K750i for just in case I can't find the phone as will need another one pretty quickly - I don't have any other phone apart from my 6230i which has my spare O2 PAYG sim in it. I'll hold off ringing O2 to cancel my contract sim until tomorrow and I'm hoping it is somewhere at work, though I'm sure I had it with my when I was leaving work!

I have an silver K800i.. But ya know.. Norwegian prices are high

Posted by Xen0nflash
I'm sure you will find it!

Posted by Sammy_boy
I hope I'll find it, it's probably sat at work somewhere (though phoned work and they couldn't find it after a quick look) so I hope I'm panicking over nothing.

I'm not a happy bunny though, wish I knew what I'd done with it!

is there not a service where you can trace it where it is...sure i saw one on the internet somewhere but not too sure...like what the police use...will be costly though

Posted by Miss UK
You didn't leave it in the toilets at work did you?
i'd get the sim blocked Sammy just incase it has fallen into somebodys hands, you don't want to find yourself with a Big bill at the end of the month do you?

I know what I rather ave no phone and a cut off sim

Posted by Sammy_boy
Little update, I'm now at work and still haven't found the phone. Had a good look in the car, and round work, the night staff hadn't found it either. I've retraced my steps from last night and not found it, if it has been dropped somewhere on the grounds I doubt anyone's picked it up as not many people come through, and it'd been dark for most of the time so wouldn't have seen it.

I've tried ringing it this morning and it's still ringing, which suggests to me that it's lost rather than someone picking it up, as I imagine that they'd have turned it off by now or taken the sim out... but then again they could be enjoying free calls at my expense!

I'm going to have another good look around again when I get home, and if I still can't find it then I'm getting the sim blocked and ordering a new one.

Thats where samsungs (recent ones) have mobile tracker so thats ok.

Turn your house upside down

i hope you find your k800i Sammy_boy!

i thought i had lost my k750i yesterday, as i kept giving it to my dad to hold while i went on rides at the pleasure beach in Gt. Yarmouth. i got back on the coach and asked my dad for my k750i, he said he hadn't got it so i checked my pockets and i found it. i usually feel when the phone is in my pocket, but for some reason i couldn't feel it.

sammy call O2 now and ask them to place an outgoing bar only, on your line, that means you can still call the phone but no one can call from it. this will save you getting a huge bill incase someone has got it.

Not only that, but all the content on it, pictures and the like (including one or two I'd rather others didn't see!) Luckily I've got most of my numbers on another sim, but am annoyed I've lost it as it's also a damn nice phone and a big inconvenience!

Posted by Evil Eye
@sammy sad to hear that...

Posted by daviep
did you not set the sim pin and phone lock code so that if lost then no one could swap sims without the passwords?

Posted by Sammy_boy
It's got a sim pin but not a phone code, it was switched on anyway - it's still ringing in so I suspect I've done something daft with it, or put it somewhere literally blindingly obvious!

Posted by daviep
at least if they take the sim out or it runs out of power then they wont be able access the sim again.

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
have you got RAC cover? Apparently they can track your location via your mobile phone location.

Its something to think about

Posted by Sammy_boy
Sadly not, I've got Direct Line breakdown but that's it!

Wherever it is it's still ringing in!

I send my condolences and i'l be the first to put my phone led on as a beacon of hope for your phone's safe returnal home...best wishes.

try to send a SMS, maybe you will hear the tone?

Posted by Sammy_boy
Just had a look at home and can't find it or hear it vibrating anywhere! I've just rung O2 and got them to bar the sim and send me a new one out as it looks like I won't be able to find it

Guess I'll have to change my AV now, but have no phones apart from a dead K510i! Currently using a 6320i (Which isn't too bad a phone but not a patch on the K8, or even the K750i!)

Posted by Xen0nflash
Have you tried to send a sms?

And about your dead k510i whats wrong with it?

Posted by bodum
now you have an 'excuse' to get a k810, sammy. look on the bright side! =)

Posted by Sammy_boy
The K510i's completely dead, not recognised by SEUS, Wotan or with my service cable

I'd love a K810i, but can't afford one atm!

Posted by Xen0nflash
Can you start it or no?

Does it vibrate when you start

lmao....i doubt you'll find your phone with that....i really wouldnt recommedn trying this anyone....unless of course you got a dirty mind

Posted by Marly
You've probably checked all places where it could be, by now, but did you also searched at places, where you thought it couldn't be ?
The trunk of your car for instance, or, considering your job, the patients' rooms ?
Sometimes, when we're elsewhere with our minds, we put things in the most stupid places, without remembering afterwards.

Hope, you'll find it.

im selling a k510i if your interested

pm me

Posted by Sammy_boy
I've searched most places including the car, whill check the boot just in case! Will check patient's rooms when I go in tomorrow, some do have a habit of walking off with things! Will also check down the backs of sofas and the like there just in case.

I seem to have solved my phone problem a bit too well... placed a 'best offer' of £61 on a K550i with 512Mb M2 card (boxed, only a week old) and won it! £67 inc. postage, which I think is a good price. Also managed to win a Moto PEBL in red for £18 (£22 inc. del) so probably have too many phones again lol!

Best change my AV!

Posted by Luke-the-magic-man
dang thats cheap on both...

lucky git

Posted by A L 3 X
not as lucky as my buy

Posted by GUCCI.011
Dam boet, hadnt you insured your K800? Hey atleast u getting those phones at a bargain

Posted by mariozlp
Sammy when you call it you can't hear it but you can see its screen lighting up, if its dark somewhere (hope), just relax and think twice your way home and the last time you used it. (you can ask your operator if any call has been done from it by the time you lost it till now, so you'll know if someone is using it). good luck

Posted by A L 3 X
ask if your operator can track it ?

Posted by Sammy_boy
I don't think it can be tracked sadly, though will have another damn good look when I get to work tomorrow!

I was lucky with the prices, though that PEBL has a crack in the outside screen apparently - description's a bit vague so not sure if it's just the outside plastic or if the external screen's kippered! Internal's OK though, which is the main thing

Posted by A L 3 X
u got a linky for the auctions ?

Posted by *Jojo*
@samboy - So, what's the LATEST matey Why wait for the next day (to check it out in your office) Can't you visit the place - NOW ! Is your workplace that far from your - house?

Posted by Sammy_boy
K550i auction

Moto PEBL auction

@jojo - Works a bit far for just popping into, it's just over 20 miles away, but I'm back at work this afternoon and will have another good look then.

Posted by *Jojo*
@samboy - I just hope that the fone is still there . . . what are your other OPTIONS if you really can't FIND it

Posted by gaming_guy
cant you try signing up to one of those child tracking services so they could tell you a rough guide to where the phone is?

Posted by goldenface
@Sammy

With t-mobile you can go online and have a look at the last 20 calls made from your phone. Can you not do this with O2 too to see if it being used by anyone?

It sounds like it will turn up somewhere. Good luck matey?

Posted by Miss UK
When you get your bill you can

Badluck Sammy nextime try not leaving your phone on silent then you might hear it if you misplace it

Posted by Sammy_boy
Though I'm a bit naughty at work, technically phones shouldn't be on (no clinical risk though) but I keep mine on on vibrate - I'd get into trouble if it wasn't on vibrate/silent!

Posted by Miss UK
Keep it in your locker then and if you want to make a phonecall in your break atleast you it's there then

I always keep it in my bag saves hassle from big game bosses

Posted by baconnugget
you should have got o2 to put a block for out going calls so u could still ring ur handset, also o2 can check the last cell site the phone is on not the exact location but at least u should beable to know the area it is in
