Another designer phone could be launched soon. Samsung are considering launching a Giorgio Armani branded mobile phone. A spokesman for Samsung, said: “We are currently reviewing the possibility with various firms including Armani. We will make an official announcement once it is finalised.”
In the past few years there have been several designer phones launched, with varying degrees of success. First there was the D&G branded Motorola Razr, which was just a Razr sprayed gold. Then came the Bang & Olufsen branded Samsung Serene. Not the most practical phone considering it requires a special screwdriver to access the battery and the SIM card, and its circular keypad took some getting used to. There has also been a couple of light designer rebrands of the Nokia 8800 in the form of the Lamborghini Nokia 8800 Sirocco and the Aston Martin branded Sirocco.
The most successful of the designer phones has been the LG Prada. Why? Well firstly it’s a pretty good phone in its own right, secondly, it was a brand new phone and not just an old handset with a designer label stuck on it.
All that have been said about the Samsung/Armani phone is that it “will come with exclusive content and a unique user interface”, personally I think it will need to offer more than that to compete the likes of the iPhone, Samsung G600, LG Prada and Nokia N95.

I am expecting nothing from it. Samsung has done a horrid job of designer phones in the past and i have solid reason to believe this time wont be different.
Serene requires a screw driver to access the SIM? I can neither laugh, nor cry on that!

Didn't Fatreg have one of those Serenes
This Armani phone might be totally different so lets see what happens

Don’t forget that the serene is the best phone available... well may be serene two will be bit better, but for now I don't see an alternative, it only needs 3G in it to be perfect...

BTW, for those that don't know......this has credit card dimensions(W/H), and 9mm thickness......
Oh, and WLAN......
I'm liking it, much more than Prada/iPhone......

Oh it looks pretty nice ive never tried a Samsung Touchscreen Phone
before neither

it's a P300 with a touch screen.
For those who think it's just another fashion phone, it's 3megapixel camera will be GREAT I'm sure.
Since it's the same as the one in the D900i/U600

9mm and Wifi ???
wow

Um......don't D900/i and U6/700 use different camera modules?? The D one doesn't fit U series, apparently......
Posted by amnesia
same camera, different shape.
The reason why the U600 is better is because of the curviture of the lense and better software.
I could be wrong, but that's what I've been told.

Understood; thanks!
This is looking like an impressive device indeed - as long as Samsung change ALL their audio alerts from their usual 'style'(or lack of), of course......

The Haptics ... add such a nice "touch" - pun intended but not premeditated
Samsung is seriously challenging all on the field. We MAY have a serious challenger to SE. If SE keeps lagging in really giving us full features & tech in the wide mid - high range of their portfolio ... I MAY just consider Samsung.

Looks good to me, better if the armani logo was a bit smaller or said samsung. Just glad the changed the colours on the user interface from the black and neon blue to the new colours. Would like to see this phones UI in action.
They removed the WIFI ?!
