Havent noticed any skipping when around people. Not sure how crowsed you mean, but have used on the bus, the tube, in the lift to the office, at the bus stop, all with people around and not a beat skipped. Only time it has skipped is when there was probably some other interference on the same freq in the area but nothing so far with just people.
cheers,

to those with ds200, have you tried connecting it to any stereo speakers with 3.5mm input(thru 3.5 cable)? how's the sound quality?
tia!

does ds200/ds200 have bass like hpm-70/82series?

I have hooked this device up to some JBL spots, and it works well, it will not go as loud as when hardwired though.
The other thing I noticed is, if you clip the device to the neck line of your clothes and have the phone in your trouser pocket you get occasional break in music, which is increased if you put your hand in your pocket. However moving your phone to, say, your jacket pocket and there is no interruptions.

1. Connect your BT
2. Plug the antenna (wired headphones or adpater)
3. Open "Mediaplayer" then open "Radio"
4. Press 'more' then 'setup' (or 'options') then 'transfer sound'
5. Select "HBH-DS200" or other Bluethooth device.
Hello Guys!
I've got myself a HBH 200 paired with my K810i for the past few days. everything's brilliant except that the HBH200 can't play radio. (it even play videos)
I've tried the solution quoted above but I'm stuck at step 4. there's no "transfer sound" option available. I've tried searching my phone & net to no avail...
do you guys reckon it can be done thru a better firmware? thanks!

Hello guys I got the HBH DS970 and I must say that in-ear is really nice as it isolates most of the outside noice. The bass and treble are good. I have used it on my P990i and N95. On the P990i music last only a very short period like 3-4hours on the N95 it can last to 6-7 hours. The functionality and shortcuts on the DS970 is the same on both P990i and N95. IF you try to put your phone at your back while the headset is in front of you, you will lose signal. Sometimes you experience some bleeps (random, short sound cuts during playback) which might be due to signal interference. But all in all the headset sound is pretty good better than any philips or senhiesser wired, in-ears I have tried before. On the N95 the sound is particulary excellent compared to the P990i. HBH DS970 cost me around $100 if converted to american money and this comes with the official SE 1 year warranty.

i think every Bluetooth device is prone to that interference...
besides its signal that were talkin about here.
what i do is just pause the music for awhile then play it again.

Yeap! all in all... I'm happy with HBH 200... except that I can't listen to the radio with this BT set.

Hello
Does Bluetooth stereo (A2DP) (SE DS980 headset) Supports LCG Jukebox for SE P990i? i don't need the various function of the Bluetooth headset. I only need sound/music from LCG Jukebox via Bluetooth stereo headset (A2DP)
I have read that on of our respect forum member(LCG Forum) said its possible. I have attached his comments:
He wrote:
I hace a 990i with a DS980 the new headset from SE and it works very well with a few limitations. U have to manuelly start the LCG Jukebox. The headset have a play/puse button that works with the built in media player, that does not work with the LCG Jukebox. And the song title does not show in the display of the headset. The skip forward backward from the headset works, and so does the volume adjustment, so u have the most important functions. BTW: the DS980 have a realy good quality sound, and the volume level is very good. Can highly recommend this headset.
plz give me a feedback does this way work or not?
Also let me any difference(Sound Quality) between SE DS980 and HPM 70.
Also give me the current price of SE DS980 in US Dollar.
Also what has the best sound quality betn DS980 and HBH 220

I have another concern for this headset. Im planning to buy this or the HBH-DS220 for my music pleasure through my laptop and not with a phone. I just recently bought a new laptop (HP DV6500t) with BT ver2.1. I wonder if this headset would work for music listening as well as using the mic for calls like voip calling (skype, yahoo and etc.)
Im using w800 so definitely i cant use this headset.
Thanks

Yes mate, it will work on your laptop providing you have the correct bluetooth stack and your PC BT dongle supports A2DP (stereo BT). Works with all windows sound output for me i.e anything that would come out of my speakers can now come out of my stereo headphone using this device. Been using it for months and its been great.
Cheers

So, for those who have had the DS970/80 and one a DS200/20, which do you prefer?
I've just ordered a pair of DS220's from Expansys and am expecting them tomorrow morning. Do you really get noticable interference when you put the phone in your trouser/jean pocket?
I honestly can't wait to try them out tomorrow!

Hi. Havent notice any problems with the phone in my jacket pocket or trousers. Works great. Borrowed a mates 970 and it is not as bad as i thought . I like the screen and the controls but not the wires really . Like the 200 as well for the clip and size. Less wires . Wish had more controls thoug. Ideal would be a cross of the two .

Thanks for the reply. Got mine today and it's charging now. 8 hours initial charge?? Comon...it says full after 2!

Hi, I live in Indonesia, and this is my first post. I just bought my HBH-DS200, costs about $65 here. Including this new gadget, I have three devices with A2DP:
1. My laptop,
2. My PDA, Dell Axim x51v
3. Stereo Headset HBH-DS200
SOUND QUALITY
============
Here are my wireless music streaming experiences:
1. From x51v to HBH-DS200: BAD. Sound getting murkier and noisier over time. I'm not an audiophile, but I can separate acceptable sound from the bad one. High frequencies is full of noise, but low and mid are acceptable.
2. From x51v to My laptop: GOOD. There are also noises in high frequency, but not as bad as HBH-DS200.
3. From my laptop to HBH-DS200: EXCELLENT. Noises are minimal to none. Sound is very similar to wired speaker. I think this is the real sound quality of HBH-DS200.
ERGONOMICS
===========
What I like:
1. The receiver is very light (14g). Dont forget to take it before you wash your clothes!
2. The clip design is strong. I also bough a neckstrap, and now it is *more-less* same with HBH-DS970! (Neckstrap-wise)
What I dislike:
1. There is no "plastic shell" like the one accompanied with HBH-DS970. I wish SE will give plastic shell to the next models, because the receiver is prone to spilling when we drink.
FLEXIBILITY
=========
3,5" jack is godsent. You can connect it to your favorite speakers / earplugs. Big point here.
CONTROL
========
This headset has three buttons:
1. On / off. Holding it activates "pairing mode".
2. Play / pause. Holding it changes volume.
3. Receive call
The only one missing here is back / forward buttons, but I still (and prefer) can control it from my device.
BATTERY
=======
Unknown yet. I'll post the result soon.
CONCLUSION: HBH-DS200 is an excellent performer with good sound quality, high flexibility, and comfortable ergonomics. It cheaper here than HBH-DS970. I really suggest it.

@ ismailfaruqi
So when you change the volume, i guess the volume keeps increasing till you find the level that you want and you let go of the button?

@ YnG: precisely.

What do you mean about "Plastic Shell"? I'm no have idea at all, although I have DS970 and DS980. Why I looking for this device is, DS970/980 series can't change your earphone to your favorite. But I like 970/980 because it can shows music title and information.
That's why I can't choose which one is better...
200 and 220 is same but only difference is colour.
I don't think 970/980 and 200/220 has different sound quality.

I mean a semi-transparent plastic shell that wraps the controller unit of HBH-DS790. I saw it when I was examining the package of HBH-DS970 at nearest Sony Ericsson counter at my town. I think the main function of that shell is to protect the control unit against rain or water.

i just bought the ds200 and there is always a lag between the audio and video. any solutions? i'm video is mp4, 300 bitrate video, 96 bitrate audio, display 240x320. playing on the SE W910i. thanks
mp3 works fine though. but once the ds220 is connected to the headset, everything slows down from sms to browsing menus

I've been having similar problems with this headset and the P1i, only while watching an MP4. I've updated my firmware for the P1i and I think its a lot better but far from perfect.

I had the same problems with my p1i. Now I use a n82 and changing the volume doesnt do so for the headset!

Hi. Has anyone had problems with a HBH-DS200 disconnecting / turning itself off after playing just one song? I use it with a Motorola V3xx. Calls work like a charm (answering, voice dial, etc.) When I use it for music, I have two gripes:
- It initially binds with the phone using a headset profile, not A2DP. So I have to go into a menu and choose "use stereo bluetooth", then after a small pause, it switches profiles and nice, stereo sound starts. However, this may be the V3xx's fault, not the HBH-DS200.
- The annoying one, and hopefully where someone here can help... when used in A2DP mode, after the first song finishes, the headset turns itself off and the phone switches back to playing music through the speakerphone. I'm able to listen to a whole playlist when using the low quality, mono headset profile. But no luck with A2DP
Any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem, except I have the HBH-DS220. I am in Australia and I hope that Telstra (my carrier) will release a software update and fix the issue. Motorola support don't want to know about it. I have also tried a generic Philips bluetooth hedset and that wont connect with the v3xx. I am convinced that the phone software is responsible given the HBH-DS220 works with my laptop and other phones. Has anyone had any luck fixing the issue? Does third party software exist for the v3xx?
Thanks, Jonas.

My HBH-DS200 got wet in the rain. Anyone know how to open this up so I can dry the inside? It won't turn ON anymore if not connected to the charger. Once I remove it from the charger, the screen goes blank.

Hi@All I just bought mine and the music time is shorter than I thought (90 mins more or less); is it normal or not?
TIA
Posted by strizlow800
I don't know if it is normal 90 mins, but I know that bluetooth headsets shorter the battery time of the phone first + they are dying fast
P.S. I prefer wired headset
