Can anyone give me some guidance with how to clean behind my 8800 screen. Is the screen glued in place or does it clip out?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Kai

Its like glue underneath mate. a good shim inserted into the speaker part should lift it with a bit of a move.

kk.226 did a good guide for changing 8800 housing, with pictures, which might help here. If not, well its good to mention it anyway

How to - Change 8800 Housings

Will the screen lens stick again? I don't want to remove it and then find I cannot replace it. Does anyone know where I can get a genuine 8800 screen lens? I have seen these ones (http://qualitechnic.co.uk/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=prodshow&ref=8800-LENS-NK&sid=4l5y6z8040k91ky4m54e87559i2d9y49) but I don't like the look of the site and I don't think they will be genuine.

Kai

It would be a lot easier to follow my guide mate.

It will literally take you 5 minutes to dismantle... and you can clean the screen properly as it's fully exposed, as apposed to having the metal surround of the glass blocking the edges of the screen.

When you remove the cover at the back of the screen does this re-apply no problem? I have never dismantled a phone before so I am a bit nervous (sorry!)

It should restick no problem matey. ebay have some glass screens. even i have purchased one. dont take the phone apart. once apart its never the same! plus it voids your warranty! took me 2mins to shim the glass out!

I actually took it apart this morning and it is now better than before. I bought it on eBay so it was a bit grubby so I cleaned it up and the slide glides even smoother, and I got the dust out from behind it!

Thanks kk.226!
