need help with my gprs modem!

I am using laptop Sony Vaio Model VGN-SZ260P. I have been trying to using its Gprs modem with my mobile sim on its pre installed software Cingular connection manger all the time I got a msg WIRELESS DEVICE is locked. What does it mean? is its becasue of my configuration or what? plz help me I really need to solve it.

your grps modem is SIM Locked to the Cingular network which is why it will not work with your SIM. Quite a few of Sony's laptops have this problem.
