just because one is big bodied, doesnt mean they will win. it depends on how they can fight, and i think Bruce can do much more.

Bruce Lee for sure. no question about it.
Tyson matched against another boxer was awesome in his day but he had no agility or speed to match Lee, whereas Lee easily had the same power that Tyson had in a punch.
In my younger days I did many years of various martial arts and studied many techniques but none inspired me as much as the power that Bruce Lee could get into his one inch punch although I always considered it a bit of a showman punch rather than something you might use practically in a real fight. But the point is if he can generate that much power with that little movement, you can bet it was multiplied many times with standard punches and kicks.

Yeah, but Mr reg said the vital thing: tyson's a nutter, and that means he'll take mr lee's beauty shots, but mr lee will die from the first straight by tyson... A lot of very impressive martial artists crossed over to boxing when I was in a club, and they were all sooo scary training with the bag or the air, but none of them handled the actually-being-hit part all that well!

So yes tyson is fast and powerful BUT Lee was faster and more powerful! Tyson would have to be able to hit him first to do any damage! He wouldnt even get close, lee would have him on his arse in seconds! Im pretty sure if you asked tyson he would tell you the same thing! Im pretty certain bruce lee was no fanny when it came to taking a punch either and he would see it coming a mile off!

UFC is not strict martial arts!
Lee was a master of martial arts and as such wouldn't be able to cope with modern fighting methods...
as for Tyson V Ali...

Glad to see a few others out there also agree with me with Tyson, being approx double the weight, though slower would have many advantages. No substitute for raw power and strength. Both have experience and technique
Sure Bruce is faster, 1/2 the weight that goes without saying. As for more power than Tyson, that I doubt.
Just rememeber you have weight groups in most contact sports for a reason!
As for the UFC, thats more to do with grappling techniques than any given martial art style, at the end of the day it's not a particular form of fighting that wins, it's the person.

But lee was so fast and powerful so fast they had to slow his movements down because he was too fast! The guy was pure muscle and could focus so much energy in to one punch. Tyson would have to rely on been able to get one lucky punch in! Even if he got hold of lee, lee would have him flip over his shoulder and on the floor in a second! Tysons a boxer and would never be able to box someone like bruce lee he would have to brawl with him Bruce would use that against him and waste him.

Bruce lee was an artist, world champion, a highly trained disciplined fighter, he was incredibly fit focused and well trained and devoted his life to martial arts and been able to channel energy in to his punches which tyson could and would never learn. People are looking at the fact Tyson is an animal and been blinded by that, im pretty certain that bruce lee would have been just as much if not more of an animal if an when he needed to be but would have stayed focused and would always have the upper hand because of this. Bruce lee was too fast and too powerful for the guy and at the end of the day he kicked chuck norris's arse nuff said

finally people seeing sense! i cant believe anyone can even think for a minute tyson would have a chance. size means nothing and neither does aggression! Bruce was alot more powerful than tyson and was pure muscle and a raw fighting machine!
Basically would any boxer who only trains in boxing like tyson did stand a chance in the UFC? Because that is basically the debate! A boxer VS a mixed martial arts expert. they would stand no chance what so ever! and neither would tyson!

Been aggressive is not an advantage! Bruce lee's aggressions was channeled in to his punches and kicks.

As for strength id like to point out he could do push ups using just his thumb and index finger!
Tyson was very good as a boxer. Certainly not the best ever. And indeed his punching power was ferocious, but not the capacity of a martial arts specialist. Bruce lee could break large chucks of cement with his hands, seeming to use almost no force behind it. There's so many ways you learn to use your hands, knees, feet in lethal ways with any good training you could injury, kill, maim, paralyze your opponent with mere thrust in a vital part of someone's body.
Tyson had weaknesses like everyone else. He did not have good inside fighting hand skills, and was a bit wild with his throws. Something that could be fatal in a fight against a extremely well-trained martial artists specialist.
Bruce Lee is far more athletic, quicker hand skills, quicker feet, knows which part can injure his opponent easier, and has more stamina. I don't see Tyson lasting long.
Why you think Tyson never joined Pride, Puro, or UFC?they asked him to , but he wouldn't because he knows all he can do is box! And why you think all these boxers who do go there get they shit pushed in? They are only proficient usually in one style of fighting and it isn't diverse.
Any boxer will get killed by a a real wrestler or a martial arts specialist unless his threshold for pain is unparalled or he's learned other fighting techniques. And even then it would still be difficult.
you have one fighter who is a master is ALL aspects of fighting, including body weaknesses, pressure points, how much pressure to apply to joints, where to attack and when, balance, contortion... etc...
and then you have another fighter who knows, "go straight ahead and swing until the other guy is knocked out" ... honestly... you think ANY strategy Mike could come up with would be superior to Bruce's strategy?
one clean punch and bruce would be out, true... but do you have any comprehension how difficult it would be to land a punch like that on Bruce??
