Definitely sony. Their new range of HD cams and Hard Disk cams are amazing. Dont forget the 40x Optical Zoom on the midrange cams.

Sony DVD Handy cam is really good. Recommend you get a long life battery and Discs though if you're gonna use it alot. BTW it uses the mini DVD disc's not the standard DVD movie size. Genuine Sony disc's are'nt cheap as usual... Sony tripod is great value and great quality though.
