Thuraya vs. Aces satellite phones

Iv recently seen an ad featuring the thuraya phone being the worlds smallest satellite phone and bursting with all of today's features like bluetooth,gsm,gps,colord,memory card. Is this thuraya thing diff erent from aces in terms of coverage. Aces covers asia with its eri r190. Globalstar with r290 outside asia. Any opinions about thuraya from its users? Ericsson should upgrade its old r190 to today's standards. Many thanks.
