it doesn't look like the screen is big enough to show track names like the ds970. that is disappointing considering that i like the clip on form factor and the 3.5mm jack.

I'd suppose the music keys are on the other side ?
Posted by obakesan
if you look at the high res silver picture on the se website you can see what look like two buttons on the other side. one is a small circluar black button, the other is a longer silver rectangular one.
The long one is most likely volume control and the small one is probably the power button. don't think this is position as "walkman" headset but rather a normal bt one allowing your own phones.
the screen might show some icons for functions perhaps maybe message or simple call icons. maybe you can assign some special icon to various callers as a quick visual of whos calling (maybe I am dreaming this function..... lol
ok. reading the info about it mentions battery and pair icon. so guess that is what the display is for

That means you can use your own personal headphones instead of the default ones if you want

I hope this precious will come in the W960i retail package. That would be a must for a top-range phone to have such an accessory.

No HSDPA. No VGA 16M colours. No GPS. Still using older Nexperia chipset. No joystick (Some people prefer it). Included DS220 missing caller ID display.
Just a few things that could have made this 'the' perfect phone.
What about the video recording? Still at crappy res and fps?
Posted by $herry
Yeah...still the old QCIF//

ahh, the w960i has qvga video currently in protos, and will have qvga in release version too. but anyway, you are talking about the phone in the wrong thread.
this thread is for the bluetooth headset. please post in w960i thread in symbian section.

Looks like a fountain pen.

So what is the difference between this and the DS200? I mean besides color and the type of headphones.

It is nice looking, but IMO they should put some more walkman control buttons on it like: play/stop, forward/rewind - next/previous track button and etc... In any way, for those who like the design and want a new bluetooth headset for their
phone, it is good.

had a play with these at the se store. it was paired to a w960 using the new hpm-83 headphones. the sound sounded quite good and loud. the bluetooth adaptor is quite small and the clip is good. there is a play pause button on the adaptor but alas there are no other walkman controls like next track etc.
the screen at the top just shows a circluar syumbol on power on for pairing and then shows a little battery icopn and paired when connected.
nice things is that both of these come with the w960 according to the rep.

The HBH-DS200 isn't an in-ear headphone. The HBH-DS220 is the package including in-ear buds.

Is there any way I could put one around my neck- like a necklace - so that I don't lose it whilst I'm in college? This is really the only problem that's stopping me from buying one...
Posted by Coxy
Yeah I think you can attach a lanyard.
Posted by Tiny
Good news then! Just don't want to lose them or get them stolen if i do splash out on them
Posted by obakesan
Hi,
Just got an HBH-DS200, see this thread for my "unboxing" pictures: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=151932
As to attaching a lanyard, unfortunately there are no dedicated holes or loops to attach one. Your only possibility, as I can see it would be to thread something between the hinge of the clip.
Cheers,

Would this turn any speaker system e.g. JBL spots into a wireless speaker system, by pluging the 3.5mm jack into it?
Posted by Coxy
@stevevalo
Yes
have the MBR-100. Posted by stevevalo
@coxy
But I would be able to kill two birds with one headset?
Posted by Coxy
@steve
Indeed, and for the money your idea is very good. However, don't forget that you could simply plug your earphones into the MBR-100 and have bluetooth earphones. Only difference i that you would lose all call connectivity etc.
So to conclude if you want to bluetooth yourself up (earphones and hifi) and have all the convenience of calls get the HBH-DS200 or HBH-DS220.

Why not just buy the HBH-DS970 or DS980 if you want a "necklace" style?
Posted by razec
the 3.5mm jack made it perfect for wireless use of personal earphones/headphones

I just prefer the style of the DS220, no point in be buying a style i don't like just for the sake of it going around my neck...

@coxy,
So If I was going to plug the D220 in to some speakers, how do you stream music from a PC with A2DP?
