Well all the other dissucsions for the other phones have been taken. So what you think of the w910 announcement?

The W910 is an HSDPA Walkman® phone that is designed for entertainment; whether music, 3D games, video, or high-speed Web access. It’s also geared to let you choose your music, your way. Select Shake control and just flick the phone to control games or skip and shuffle between tracks. Or opt for SensMe™ and discover music to match your mood and tempo.
A potent combination of slim UMTS phone and high performance media player, the W960 Walkman® phone packs enough punch for up to 8,000 songs* and includes a Walkman™ player for finger-touch navigation around playlists on the large screen. The 2.6” display serves as an excellent viewfinder for a 3.2 megapixel camera and as a widescreen for watching video in TV quality.
“Market enthusiasm for the Walkman® phone range has far outshone even our own expectations,” says Miles Flint, Sony Ericsson President. “With lifetime global sales standing at over 26.5 million Walkman® phones and users really understanding the benefits of ‘music on your mobile’, the time is right to release the next album! This means Walkman® phones that make it quicker and easier to transfer or download music, plus innovative ways of searching through all of those tracks. It’s also about thinking beyond music, to games, videos and the Web.”

Sony Ericsson W910 Walkman® phone

Feel the Music
Discover and create a playlist that suits your mood. Move through your music collection with the flick of the phone

Take the Controls
Hold the phone just like a portable gaming console. Move it to steer the 3D action.

Make it Quick
Use the new Media Manager provided to transfer videos, music, photos and more to and from your phone.

Shake it up
With Shake control you can skip your music forward one track if it’s flicked one way and back if it’s flicked another. Shake the W910 back and forth and it shuffles your playlist. It also adds a new dimension to mobile gaming. If you tire of using the dedicated gaming buttons, just steer the W910 from left to right to make your move.

Bring it down
The W910 Walkman® phone will feature the latest version of the PlayNow™ mobile download service (PlayNow™4.0). This gives the user instant access to an extensive catalogue of games, mastertones and music, including thousands of tracks from Sony BMG. Preview, select and pay for tracks, all in just a few clicks, and download them on demand directly to your phone.

Match your mood
Choose your music to suit your mood with SensMe™, a completely new way to browse music on your Walkman® phone. Search your collection and create playlists based on tempo and style rather than on artist or album. The unique visual shows each of your tracks as dots in a matrix, placed along a horizontal and vertical axis according to their attributes. This way you can circle a group of tracks that match your mood to create a playlist, or simply select individual tunes as you wish. An alternative to the phone’s more conventional music catalogue, SensMe™ is the perfect way to create a soundtrack to your life.

Manage your media
The new media browser on the W910 Walkman® phone places all of your media in one central area, making it easy to access music, video or podcasts from one single icon on your phone menu.

The W910 Walkman® phone helps you sort out your various media files, even before they reach the phone. The new Media Manager PC programme lets you organise your music, photos and podcasts on your PC and transfer them via USB to your phone. An incredibly simple tool to use, you can for example search and select music on your computer or audio CDs and convert the tracks to mobile-compatible formats before the transfer takes place, thus saving time as well as your phone’s resources.

Get more
With room for over 900 songs on the W910 (1GB Memory Stick Micro™ provided), you will want to enjoy your music to the full. So why not team it up with the Stereo Bluetooth™ Headset HBH-DS220 and stream rich, crystal clear audio direct from your phone. Or turn the W910 into a mini stereo system by plugging it into the new Music Desk Stand MDS-65.

Tomotaka Tsutsushio, Product Manager for the W910 Walkman® phone, Sony Ericsson, concludes: “With its large screen and powerful new Walkman® player, the W910 lets you watch, play or listen. It’s an all-round entertainer. ”

The Sony Ericsson W910 Walkman® phone will be available in either Hearty Red or Noble Black from Q4 2007. It will ship in the following network versions:
W908c: GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
W910i: UMTS/HSDPA 2100-GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900

I think that k850 [Sofia] is going to steal the whole show if it's good

Posted by roogenial
Who understands you IronGhost? You post about Shinobu on Sofia's thread and about Sofia on the Shinobu's one Hehehehe

Posted by xironghostx
i wrote that here because he wondered how the announcement of shinobu would be and i think that the whole thing is like centered to k850 and they just show some pics on shinobu.

and yes, i understood the discussion-starter a bit wrong sry

any one think this will kill the k800? I mean it has the 3mp cam and the walkman and hsdpa. Best of both worlds? I doubt the extra 2mp on the k850 are gonna make much diffrence, I think this maybe better then the k850, untill we learn more about its media player capabilities. Think about it this way, when walkman 2.0 came out SE put walkman 1.0 on the k800, so any one think k850 will have unbranded walkman 2.0? If this has walkman 3.0?

Dude iv been doing my homework and trust me you dont know squat about photography. Megapixels dont change the quality of pix one bit. It only prevents pixilization if you want enlarged pictures. no one could tell the diffrence between 2 of the same pictures taken at 3mp and 5mp. The sensor actualy makes the diffrence. the k850 would never compare to a dedicated 5mp. I dont think SE would put a professional sensor in a phone do you? So next time you say 2 MEGA PIXELS ONLY in capital letters as if im an idiot think about what your saying a know what your saying cause to say that you obviously dont.

You're posting in the W910 thread that this very handset features 3mp which it does NOT.

Do your homework and read some press releases or post in the right thread.

What the hell do you know? It does feature 3mp thats already been confirmed by SE. I also dont think they would put a cam worse then 3mp in a device like this. Even that your totaly wrong at least back up your claim, unless your making it up which you obviously are

It only have a 2MP camera. The W960 has a 3.2 MP autofocus camera (+ flash).

Anyway, I love this phone. Big screen and still light and thin

I wonder if W910 screen uses Bravia Technology or W960, perhaps? I hope we don't have to wait until 2008 for that kind of LCDs.

Some official pics of the red W910 (looks great):

Posted by ajeetpv
do any one tell me the size of screen of this phone? is it 2.6" QVGA?

Posted by Merkie2
2.4" screen.

Can anyone tell me what the benefits over W850i are, besides the HSDPA and bigger screen?

Posted by JC08
Its way thinner, walkman v3.0 with shaker control, updated track id....

Posted by Daedalus85
gah, why couldn't they just put an auto focus lens on it, thats all I ask SE, make a phone as decent as this with a good camera :/

I'd get the W960i, but I don't like smartphones (i've tried the W950i and it drove me mad), I'd get the K850i but, well, I just don't like the idea of the keys and the 'touch sensitive' softkeys (or, I'm assuming they are), and now I can't get this due to the lack of the auto focus. After my W850i I'm never getting another phone without autofocus.

Guess I'll be getting a W810i after all then, until the Nokia 6500 Slide comes out :/

Posted by GioGio
Hmmm... Im gonna get w910i, so i see it has 850...right? Is this official? I really wanna use this in the USA using AT&T... Do you think it'll work?

Posted by mkdcoupe4
Really good looking phone, but just disappointing it doesn't have autofocus like my w850i. I'll still get it but.

Geez one saxxxy phone...lol...do u guys see the screen lo0ks almost exactly the size of the w960?

Posted by Pop Lover
You Have To Think about The Walkman Sign Under the Screen........It Takes Some Space from The Screen

I Wondering Where IS The Walkman Shortcut Button In This Phone?!!

Posted by JC08
The shortcut button is on top of the phone?

Posted by Pop Lover
Thanks JC08
But If any One Else Can Answer Me Where is The LOUD Speaker
(Just I Need Confirm)
