do good in school..... wait for your birthday...... throw out your phone and say you lost it and need a new one....

Get a job and buy it yourself like we all do and not be moochers and rely on your parents!!!!

or do what Scott suggested
perhaps he is not at the legal age to work yet @Scott?

Still does'nt stop him doing odd little jobs....
Go and cut some peoples lawns get a paper round....
When you have worked, saved up and bought what you wanted yourself you get a lot more pleasure out of it rather than it just been handed out on a plate

very true.... thats how i got my k750i.... i worked MORE than i normally would back then for it...
do some jobs around the house.... little things, big things, just work some way

Completely agree scott. I worked with my uncle one week in the hols last summer ( i was 14) helping him re decorate. I was going to buy some new games for my ps2 but instead had enough for a w800i.
Ask your neighbors if you can do anything for them? Like scott said, mowing lawns is a good way to get a little bit extra.
Otherwise u could mooch, but dont expect something for nothing

I wash cars down my road for £10 a go. Extra if they want the interior done too.
I've done it for a year or two now at weekends and use decent cleaners like Auto Glym, not washing detergent and other stuff like that. Takes 1.5 to 2 hrs to finish a car. Longest time it took me was an interior/exterior wash of an R-Class and that was a little over two hours.

well, mowing an average sized lawn takes about 30 minutes and won't fetch more than half a dollar in sunil's place (india, i suppose)... twice a day, once a week, makes that ~50 dollars a year... how 'd that suffice... best option, atleast at my place, is to work in a call centre, a good one pays about 200 dollars a month for a few hours daily shift, 6 days a week, and you don't need a too much of a tech background either, but good comm skills...

in the english hcse paper today, it said that mobile phones are replacing cigarettes as the "lates faison accessory". IE less people are smoking and more peope are owning mobile phones. Just tell your folks that youll start smoking if they dont buy you a phone
why for sunils120 does it say he joined this message board in november 08?

But you're right, you could always threaten to do things to yourself in order to get what you want

If your parents don't think you need a new one yet, their more than likely right. If your not old enough to work, you shouldn't have a phone in my opinion. Nothing makes me more angry (well, a few things do) than kids who are bought phones anything below the age of 14. I've had parents buying their kids, aged 7 to 9, buying them a new phone, not their first phone, a NEW phone, ie they already have one, what the hell could they need it for?! :/

my little sister who is 8 has friends who have mobile phones. And they use them because they get the school coach home and sometimes there is a problem ie they will be late home, in which case they need to call their parent to tell them so they dont get worried
@ goldenface: lol cant believe i didnt see that

let me clarify u all that this cell will be for my home use.
it is not being bought personally for me.
they were willing to buy the n72 and i didn't wanted it. (since it was of same cost here).
someone in this forum also appreciated my decision. i arrived at the conclusion to buy it and now my parents r happy about this.

@sunil, so actually you meant...
'how to convince parents to buy a cell for themselves'...

Why not save up some cash, do well in school, and talk your parents into getting you the phone but you put your cash in. Also a good reputation as a son helps alot. Just don't abuse, say you want a new one twice a year. good luck
