I just saw that Moto announced a new Motorola Razr 2.
It seems people are rejoicing. Weird when you see people are criticising Moto for always serving us the same re-heated soup. But hey, they seem confident it will sell.

If SE was trying to pull the same move, they would be flamed instantaneously, especially on this forum.

Stuck between the firepower of Nokia and the legacy of Motorola with their Razr, What is SE to do?

They're trying to shoot in the middle with
- a fee releases, more than Moto but less than Nokia
- a few high end phones, more than Moto but less than Nokia
- and a few rehashed version of successful phones, less than Moto and arguably, more than Nokia

Anyway for those wanting to see the new Razr 2.

razr 2 ? omg, this looks like the most boring device since the KRZR and the rest of the moto family
- i don't see this one getting popular

Motorola havnt done any thing good for ages. They have like 2 3g phones!

Hi all,

I really can't understand some of the comments as at least Moto are updating there devices with HSDPA, EDGE and various other leading edge tech innovations, unlike some manufacturers we could care to mention.

have to admit i never really liked the original due to lack of decent features.the 6mb till the end of world comes attitude of the phone made me hate it lol i even took a v360 rather than it.but like doggman said at least they upgrading and dont forget it's gonna be a smart phone this time around clever move by moto...looks and brains in this new RAZR.if the price is right i may just decide to get this rather than t650.

It's gonna be running on Linux.
But why would you say it's gonna be a smartphone?

Now i'm confused i thought linux was a multi tasking platform with it's own programs that can be made by third party developers?doesn't that make it a smartphone?what isn't smartphone bout this one??

I thin Moto Linux is "closed" OS meaning only java prog. It should have the same capability in multi-tasking as the rest of the smartphone OS like S60/WM/UIQ.

it isnt a smartphone as the version of linux is actually runs is crippled by motorola so it is incapable of running smartphone applications. Motorola ony use linux to base their GUI on, then stick the same old crap motorola front end on it

it says it has 2 huge displays, the inner display looks nothing bigger than 2.0 inches

nothing new about it... same old design

features also... nothing new

2mm thick? why cant you do 1mm thick?

so cheap

cost $500? why dont you rob a bank?

razr2 using a really fast arm11, running on 500 mhz...that rocks!
what about se?

I don;t think that is so bad.
Actually this could be a great second phone.

nothing exciting about it. why would one need a second phone?

Lol indeed i ask myself why i need three phones everyday...still cant answer it properly but cant let go either....decided i'm gonna start slowly let go of one next week to my friend who's nagging me to sell him the w800.later in the year probably upgrade v3x to a t650

i need a second phone, as i do a lot of hiking and duke of edinburgh expeditions etc, and im not sure i want to take my smartphone with me on those, so i switch to my second phone, which at the moment is a k610

It isn't a bad phone, but I'm still skeptical as to whether Moto have cared to make the phone easier to use. Their old menus were horrible.

That large screen on the front looks nice, but I don't think it's that necessary. Moto say that you can do a lot of things with it closed, even compose SMSs, but really, it's a lot easier to just open up the phone. I'm also not a fan of touch sensitive keys. Even with the 'haptic' tech, you can't just skip or pause tracks in your pocket as with normal phones.

Funny how I recently won a moto v3 two , besides the high and excellent build quality I hate the user interface. Sure, it has some nifty features but overall it sucks. I'm definitely staying away from motorola!

I can't wait to get one!!! I love it! Used to have an original V3i and it was one of my best phone ever, even known I always buy proper and expensive phones!
