Now wouldn't it be nice if they could sneak in a second memory card slot onto phones? easily possible when using SD Micro or Sony M2.
this would mean double capacity, more managable oppertunities like music on one, photos on the other, and mean we wouldnt have to close apps on smart phones if we have apps on one and music/photos on the other!
Anyone else think this or am i being greedy

i remember seeing this in some PDA's...
also just to add, this would obviously double the sales of memory cards for these phones!

Great idea! Or how about a Mem Stick Duo slot and an M2 slot?
Even say, 2 M2 slots would be very handy for that reason, music on one and photos, videos etc. on the other

sure it would start or only be available on smart phones but still, can have a C and D drive as well as the on board memory...

I think m2 slot and micro sd (behind battery) will be good combination in future
smartphone

Or maybe
should put memory stick slot (not duo/m2) and compact flash slot in their future uiq devices Posted by rule_breaker
Would be much better if most phones came with at least 2gb of internal storage!

i think thats another matter, but being able to have 2 x 4Gb sticks of memory would make a lot of people very happy

would you really buy 2 x 4gb memory cards? You spend £100+ on buying these memory cards and next thing you know is your next phone doesn't support the same memory cards!!
I really hate the fact how quickly the memory card technology is developing!! I'm having to buy a new memory card for every new phone because the old ones are never compatible after a few months..
I still have couple of unused memory cards that I mistakingly ordered thinking they'd be compatible with my phones.. been thinking of putting em on esato for sale but theyre probably worth nothing by now!
Gosh this is a long post!!

I think mobile-review or somewhere had a news article on a phone with twin memory card slots, I forget what types though.

i dont think ive every spent any more than £25 on a memory card. my Sandisk 2Gb MicroSD cost me £20.
and to answer your question, yes i would! phones play music, show me movies, take my photos and now even help me home with GPS. and all of this takes up space!
if you ordered something by mistake you should send it right back, you have 14 days under UK law as long as its upopened and unused....

To be honest, MicroSD seems to be the major adopted card type these days, most if not all manufacturers (bar SE ;p) support them in alot of their phones. It was a card format designed specifically for mobile phones, and it seems to be staying that way. After all, you can't get any smaller, their cheap to produce (now) and will be available in larger sizes as time goes on.
