i'm using SonyEricsson k750i because in my opinion SONY is a big name
in multimedia electronics combine with ERICSSON an old and experienced
in mobile technology.
Unfortunately... sony stuff based on popularity much more then technology.
i do surfing internet and i discover this....
SAMSUNG is better.
1. in the year 2004, they launch SCH-S250the 5MP camera phone (a couple
of month after launching their 1.3MP and 3.2MP camera phones).
2. in 2005 they introduce 7MP camera phone SCH-V770
3. no other brands challenge the 2006 model SCH-B600 with 10MP.
but the very sad news is these model just for Korean market.

They concept phones they dont release them.
Posted by BobaFett
theses concepts are slightly exaggareted imo... dont forget, a mobile cam will never offer u the same quality as a digi cam. just look at cybershot fones or the cz feature of nokia and compare those with the digi cams with the same branded features...
Posted by sahak
nope, they already sold.
2004
2005
2006
and as i told all are sold in korea. i hope our korean friends can tell
what is happen there. in my opinion this happen because mobile phone
manifacturer got to beat local company (local company can easily copy
and produce more phone with lower cost)
and i think u never see the piracy model of SE w800, Nokia n73, and may other model. (lots of piracy even in car manifacture like merc benz compressor - the piracy model build in 1.3 cc with 13" wheels)

They were expensive and HUGE! It would be easier to carry my phone and a decent camera with me.
Posted by shaliron
Um, megapixels don't equal quality. I don't understand why this still isn't common knowledge yet - but we'll blame marketing for that.
Those phones look like bricks, and have the charisma of them as well. Even proper cameras aren't perfect, and it is physically impossible for camera phones to outdo real cameras. Have you seen an N95 photo up close? It's devoid of any detail. It's a painted mess in photographical terms.
And notice how the phones weren't released worldwide?
Posted by benrk
Who says these fones are being sold? Because there are hostesses holding them in hall 26 @ CeBIT? Because the CEO or whoever it's supposed 2b holds it in the press-center @ CeBit 2006?
I would'nt wann'a have one of these ugly bricks & I don't wann'a make posters from my fone snapshots, what good are 10Mpx other than for professional use?

maybe some of those was sold in korea and in the states

the 5MP and 7Mp models were indeed released, have friends used them
but remember that these are phone-cameras not camera-phones
they stuck the whole pentax module at the back i.e. cheated
has SE ever thought of that? of course, they have their 9mm thin T9 cybershot camera, come on. it's a joke
they never came out because all drop tests have been failed. as simple as that.

NOKIA allready try this long time ago (combining phone and camera)
but it was only a concept phone.
3MP is quite enough for me. and it would be better to have
more than 10x optical zoom.
Posted by QVGA
i'm pretty sure if SE released a 10MP camera phone, suddenly that would become a benchmark for half of us here for other manufacturers.
Posted by SE4NICK
I agree with QVGA
If 10 mp was released here by SE or Nokia we would all be complaining when is se gunna bringout a 50 mp phone (lol) nokia did. COmplain Complain Complain. We complain more than we are now about the K800 sucsessor.
That was a messsy post sorry

@ sahak
love your phone
anyone ever wondered why it's so hard to find any Esato members from Korea? I doubt there's any. also from Japan as well.
Posted by c96sthl
Yes this phone is out and i know its selling in korea since one of them or most of them using cdma. So? Look at the size and i remember 1 of them didn't have proper keypad layout for numeric key (using wap i can't see pic posted here ) a phone module being added onto a mid range camera. No big deal because people like nokia or se is trying to introduce camera into a phone. Samsung w good integration of phone & camera division just manage to do the reverse. Remember sony e is seperate entity from sony.

SE have the ability to build it but unfortunately they can't step over SONY.
yes, SE and SONY is seperate entity. As"sub company" to SONY, there
must be an agreement "not to disturb" SONY market (Main company).
it's all about market and money. so, the technology will grow very slow.
btw, my grandpa using camera-phones too. hehehe

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sony Ericsson is a joint venture established in 2001 by the Japanese consumer electronics company Sony Corporation and the Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson to make mobile phones
Ericsson, which had been on the forefront of cellular phone innovation for decades,[citation needed] decided to divest its mobile phone business in 2001 following huge losses. Ericsson had decided to source chips for its phones from a single source, a Philips facility in New Mexico. In March 2000 a fire at the Philips factory contaminated the sterile facility. Philips assured Ericsson and Nokia (the other major customer of the facility) that production would be delayed by less than a week. Nokia began buying available chips from alternate sources and when it became clear that production at the Philips factory would be compromised for months, Ericsson was faced with a serious shortage. This compromised Ericsson's ability to compete by preventing the launch of new handsets and production of current models.
so SONY have 'buy' Ericsson to make their "sub company" =sonyericsson
i know no one can accept this because Ericsson was very huge name in
market and telecomunication history.

SE is a separate legal entity, it's a joint venture, not a department nor "sub-company" of Sony, not like Sony Pictures.
it's a 3rd company, not part of Sony "Group" (conglomerate) and not part of Ericsson. decisions between them do not apply across, nor are they legally binding across. if SE goes bankrupt, neither Sony nor Ericsson will be affected.
i suggest you brush up your economics on "joint venture" "take over" and various forms of "merge", you don't seem to understand what those words mean on wiki.
Sony never took over Ericsson, never bought it out, all three companies are running independently today
another example would be LG/Philips CRT, even if they go bankrupt, LG and Philips themselves do not get bankrupt. or BenQSiemens which liquidated earlier this year, both Siemens and BenQ are still there alive and kicking.

@sahak
It is a 50/50 joint venture.
Sony and Ericsson pooled resources to create a whole new company and any profits from
are divided equally.
Posted by BobaFett
not to forget, that the mobile divison of /// made the joint venture with sony, not the whole /// co

SONY not buy ERICSSON but their phones department merge (in a rude word
we call = buy) Ericsson "mobile department".
don't be angry, i'm using SE's too (K510i,K750i) k800=3MP is enough
to me but i hope next model will be as small as k510i.
For who want to have a better MP's phone, welcome to malaysia and
ask for XCUTE-DV2. the 6MP camcoder phone. allready sell in 2005
(taiwan product). hehehe
Malaysian ringgit RM1698 (below 500 USD) by 2 years ago. must be
cheaper now.
You can choose VGA (640*480) or QVGA (320*240) size and also Frame
per second (15fps, 24fps and 30fps). come with 256mb mini-sd.

A friend of mine had a DV2 18 months ago.....cost him £120....
6mp camera, yes, but cheap build quality(makes N95 seem luxury), lack of Bluetooth, slow/awkward UI......wasn't good....
.....friend got jealous of my W800, and replaced DV2.......with W900....
Hasn't looked back!
