http://www.mobile-review.com/review/samsung-d900i-en.shtml

a revamped D900 with radio. What baffles me about this review is that Eldar failed to notice that the menu has changed a little bit, but for me its a significant change. The fonts are now really good looking. D900 had fonts used from the stone age. Whereas D900i's menu fonts look awesome.

the menu's look like the D600 what the heck
btw it's ok... still no 3G big dissapointment again...

Posted by QVGA
the fonts look really good IMO. i am impressed, even tempted. it were the fonts used in the D900 that spoilt its GUI look

How the heck do you turn off Keypad tones on this???
it's there but you cannot select it "Baffles me this"

Posted by Sammy_boy
Think it's tied in with the theme if you've got that active background selected, though you can turn the keypad tones (along with other phone 'indicative' tones) by using the volumne key to turn it down to zero.

I think you have to select a normal wallpaper to just turn the keypad tones off!

Posted by Miss UK
ive tried it with the London 1 and the 02 1 but still no joy lmao..
silly bloomin phone,

made a few calls and people on the other end can hear me properly is that down to bad signal or the weather

everything else is ok on it though sliders abit stiff,
had probs putting my sim card in it had to file the edges down

No problems reported by others with my D90 - have you got the 'voice clarity' feature turned on, I have so far with no problems.

Try a generic wallpaper or a picture you've taken and see if you can change the keypad tones then.

Posted by Miss UK
Voice claritys off I turned that off and it made the call abit better,
I reck it's something to do with the signal btw

i'll have a play with the wallpapers

Posted by Sammy_boy
That's one doubt I do have with the phone, and that's the signal level does seem dissapointing. I've had second thoughts and decided to take my K800i on holiday with me, better battery life, better signal, and better camera and flash!

Not getting rid of the D900 just yet though, I do like the phone, and do have a weakness for Samsung sliders!

Posted by Miss UK
everything seems fine on my end though using the phone,
it's just that ive spoke for hours to 2 of my mates and they making me repeat myself lol

it's gotta be something to do with Transmitters aswell plus the weather has been rubbish today especially.

ive got the reciept for it anyway but I do not think theres a problem with the earpiece surely, if there was it wouldn't work would it lol

I do like this phone it looks nicer in this housing then the black 1,
those pics posted above do not give the phone justice until you have seen it for real..

My mate bought a 7373 a few months ago now after she's saw this shes gutted she bought that Nokia..

K800i was a great phone but I just got bored of it sure it has Infrared and 3G but I can live without those.

Sammy if you can get your butt down to a 02 store and try the D900i out for size, you will like the new look to it trust me

What I like about these NEW Samsung fones are their being so SLIM (which I guess MOST of the celfone companies are INTO now . . . including . . . W880/P1

I'm just wondering if they will break-easily beacuse of it's thinness I mean if it happend that you SAT on it etc.

Posted by Miss UK
it depends how heavy that person is,
sitting on th D900i wouldn't damage it closed.

the slider is very stiff compared with the N95!

do like the D900i though prefer it over the K800i
it looks amazing compared to that boring candybar phone!

Posted by Sammy_boy
Think the LCDs can be a bit prone to breaking, most of the faulty D9s I see on ebay have broken screens or white screens indicating a faulty LCD ribbon, these are the biggest potential problem.

@samboy - Will this relate to the issue being most of the Samsung fones are sliders I mean, flex-cable issue Just like with any other clamshell fone?

Posted by Miss UK
good god sammy,
you must be sweating when you take those appart..

I know I would be

Posted by Sammy_boy
Yes, they can be a sod to take apart those Samsung sliders, tho E900s are worse as the ribbon cables on those are soldered partially in place, ruined 2 recently trying to get them out!

Got another D9 coming tomorrow to replace the screen in!

i agree with you Sammy_boy. i once had an e800 which occasionally white screened (but worked ok). i took it apart and completely buggered the ribbon.

that was my 1st and last time of taking a samsung apart (although i quite fancy a d900 now)

@miss uk - What's the COLOR of your D900 if I may ask Been browsing my local-auction-site this morning (presstime) . . . and quite shocked to see that the D900 has this color-model . . . thought it was ONLY-black

Sorry, if you have already seen one in this HUE

D900i is silvery...

Posted by *Jojo*
@fat - Yup, I saw the thread titled: D900i, just want to let Kerry see it . . . all along I thought it was only black

Haven't seen the image of the - Silvery D900i though

Posted by Miss UK
Red ones ok but I prefer the one ive got it's nicer
on that link seems someone wants to swap there month old K800i for a D900 lol what does that say

btw ringin my mate still sounds terrible she keeps making me repeat myself lol "02 sort your bleeding transmitters round Smethick" lmao..

JoJo pic's of the D900i can be found on the starter page from the host poster

I would take pics of mine but ive not my Camera here its round my moms!

Posted by *Jojo*
@miss uk - So, your D900 is black? Yeah, one ofthe bidders wants to swap his K800 with the D900 + $$$ I'm sure . . . OK, will look for the pic of the D900i in the front page of the thread, thanks!

Posted by Miss UK
No mine is Silvery as Fatreg explains

D900i is the same price as a K800i in the Uk..
D900 is £139.99 so is the D900i but you have to pay £149.99 for it cos it comes with that blasted Sim Card.

CPW are getting the D900i's instock but they will sell them alot more.
Phones4U have never evn heard of them

Present 02 only have them

Posted by *Jojo*
D900i is as PRICED as the K800i no offense, but between the two, I'll surely go with the K800

Nice sig ! I hope you'll respond to your PMs now . . . !

Posted by Miss UK
Well ive had a K800i and got bored of it..
sure it lacks a extra .2 Pixel and 3G but the design of it is nothing
compared with the D900i

Posted by Miss UK
wheres the options to check GPRS browsing duration on this phone lol

Posted by Miss UK
