I got my new T-Mobile sim on saturday. On the sim is an option called Multisim. Anyone know what its for or how it works?

I didn't know t-mobile did it, but Vodafone offer a service called multi sim where you can have more than 1 sim card for a single phone number

the downside on vodafone was that you could only use GPRS on one of the SIMs so I never used it.

can't see anything about it on uk t-mobile site but stuff pops up in google for german t-mobile

what's the main selling point of multisim?

Umm, people who want their number in more than one phone?

Honestly tho, the most common use is people who have a car phone (either integrated or sits in a cradle) and a seperate phone for their pocket. I've had quite a few people walked out a bit miffed that you can't have that lol, like they think I can pull a magic answer out of my arse

"MultiSIM enables use of mobile handset and GSM Desktop Phone
With Multi SIM, one (or two) additional SIM cards sharing the same number, T-Mobile customers can then be reached simultaneously on more than one device. For example, you can be operating a mobile handset at the same time as the GSM Desktop Phone. If an incoming call appears, both devices ring at the same time."

Interesting as when I asked T-Mobile last month if they offered the service the answer was no. Did you actually get two sims with the same working number on each?

Hi Masseur and all,

Well unless things have suddenly changed in the last couple of months T-Mobile don't offer this service. As i wanted a Data only Sim for my N93 and a voice Sim for my 8800SE and was told it just wasn't possible. Even though i would be paying subscription for a voice Sim and Web N Walk tariff they could not do it. The best i could get was the £7.50pm 50 x net Min's rolling contract and add a Web N Walk tariff to that, which obviously was not what i wanted. But as for the first time in ages i have only one device it is just not important for me right now.

T-Mobile only offer multi sim service to corporate customers. The reason it's on there under the interactive section is because it's a generic sim that they send to all customers! Hope this helps :o)
