Its not that easy to tell where everyone is from as you dont have to put where you are from.

laffen could use a traker or indeed probably does use a tracker, as this gives lots of info about users accessing the site, such as os, screen size, isp, location, browser etc etc
so i suppose laffen could provide you with such information!

True.
It does seem the majority of Esato users are from the UK. I would put a guess on that around 40% of active members are from the UK.

it would be intriguing to see the results!
There is definitely alot of us brits knocking about!

Thanks, jc white,
that makes 2 out of 3 here who think there is a British majority - my impression is not so weird anymore... I'm healed!!!

Hope you're not calling me "british"...haven't you read MY phony profile

Yes, I do believe that the majority of Esato users are from the UK. However, we may notice that there is a sizeable portion of users conversing in regional threads in their language(s) and some threads over there are really active. Take the Slovak Thread for example. Not to mention the filipino and the Indian users.

Heh... Yup, I do get the impression that Esato is UK-centric, not that there's anything bad about that though. At least most of the posters here use proper English that isn't too hard to decipher. Anyway, I must be the only Singaporean who's actively online here. The "Singapore" regional thread has been lying dormant for months now.

From New Zealand here.
I find Esato very timezone dependant. When I come on in the evening, the Brits are all at work or uni and its real quiet. When I log on in the weekends its alot busier; sometimes I'll pull an all-nighter and catch the US members (12am - 4am NZ time). I've noticed alot of Middle Eastern and Indian members online too.
BTW, Gelfen (an Australian member) mentioned the timezone issue and was gifted his own special place where he could be included

Yes im sorry i just reside at Stargate Atlantis, we rose from the bottom of the ocean all good fun like.

Well esato is mainly UK, but its got its fair share of European users as well.

Maybe it would be quicker to say which members aren't from the Commonwealth since we have, so far in this thread, British, Indian, Australian, New Zealander and Singaporean members.

South Africa here. We have lots of lurkers but not too many actively posting.
The Nigerian thread is also active although not at the same levels as two years ago.
Most of the time we can't discuss the latest
phones as we sometimes get them three months after their European release.

Quite true Old Boy
Although I see a very healthy representation from the Indian Community, the South African thread has the liveliest discussions and we have a noticeable Eastern European contingent too!
We don't see many French although there is a large French SE community elsewhere, ditto the Germans.

Australia seems to have reasonable representation on Esato.

just in case, if anyone really needs to do statistics
it is possible to analize here. it's the list of users sorted by "From" column. Though it's a little bit BIG list. And it's hard to check them all, because some of users specify there origin as "CityName, UK".

Well reasonable, but still not a lot I reckon.
