Here is a guide that shows you how to backup your GDFS with FAR Manager. The GDFS is unique for every single phone, so it's good to have backup in case of complete flashing your phone (if it becomes dead or etc...).
- Pictures are taken from SE-NSE forum;
Firstly you have to verify the adress of the GDFS location in the firmware for your phone. Locatioins are different between K700 and K750/W800 so be careful when entering the numbers because wrongly read GDFS can damage the phone more, when putting it back in the phone in the future. Here are the lenght numbers for K750 and W800:
W800 - GDFS - 45F00000 - 00100000
K750 - GDFS - 45F00000 - 00100000
Once you have the numbers, now you can start reading (backing up) your GDFS.
First, start FAR manager and run the SEFP plugin (press ALT + F1). Then select your phone, cable, type of connection and connection speed:
Once you selected the connection method, remove the SIM card from the phone. Turn it off. Then press "Enter the Matrix"

Once you select the FLASH folder wait until the loader breaks into the FLASH menu:
Now you should see folder named "memory". That is the folder where the phone filesystem is stored (including the GDFS we need to backup). In the oposite panel of FAR, navigate to the location where the GDFS backup will be stored (it's your choice). Now select the folder (right click on it) and press the Copy button:
Once you pressed copy, now you got a dialog where the GDFS reading lenght need to be writen. So now, we are backing up just ONE part of the phone firmware, which includes only the GDFS. The GDFS adress for K750/W800 can be found above (I wrote it in the beginning of this post). In this dialog you need to write the GDFS reading lenght for your phone. E.g: For backing up W800 GDFS, in the "Mem Start" enter $45F0 0000 - 0010 0000:
When you entered the numbers, now click "Read". Wait until the GDFS image is read and backed up:
Now you get result of the GDFS backup. Click "Close":
Exit FAR, unplug the phone. Remove the battery for 30 secs. Then insert the SIM card and the battery again and turn the phone on. The GDFS image backup will be found in the folder that was in the oposite panel of far while reading the GDFS. The file name is something like this:
356829265652815_45F00000_00100000
WARNING: EVERYTHING YOU DECIDE TO DO WITH YOUR PHONE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I OR ANYONE ELSE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE MADE TO THE PHONE DUE TO NOT PROPER WORKING!!!
Hope this guide helps those who need to backup the GDFS

how to use these gdfs when phone is dead.

@kcscm use a program like SeTool to restore (write) gdfs if you did a COMPLETE flash of the phone. In most of cases like this, service cable is needed.
