it's an old trick actually to bring out your screensaver on the screen. you can press # along with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, * or any key actually.
if you don't set any screensaver, then the screen will get off like your phone does.

on my w550i it seems to work if the screensaver is on,
but does not work with the screensaver off.
only works for a few seconds. then it comes out of the screensaver as if you have pressed a button.
yes it works with # and any button
