Using K800i modem over Bluetooth?

Sorry if this has already come up somewhere, but I couldn't find anything that was quite it.

Basically, I'm occasionally using the Mobile networking wizard in my K800i software pack to use my phone as a modem to connect to the internet via Orange GPRS, since I've still got the old 'Open Access' thing.

Anyway, I can do it when I've got my phone plugged in via USB, but I want to be able to do it via Bluetooth too. But even when I've got the phone connected via bluetooth, I can't use the phone's modem to connect to the internet.

When the phone is USB-plugged in, going to 'Network Connections' shows the dial-up GPRS connection, with 'Sony Ericsson Device 039 USB WMC Data Modem' as the modem. But if I unplug it, it disconnects and claims the modem for that connection is my computer's inbuilt dialup modem.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I think there is a similar thread in the GPRS, Wap .... Forum... Have a look there...

On your phone, go to connectivity - Bluetooth - Bluetooth Internet.

Maybe you haven't select the Bluetooth Internet Data Accounts yet...

If you go to your 'Device Manager' and ensure you have your Bluetooth modems installed and working correctly.

Then you need to create a new connections using the Bluetooth modems.

Hope this helps.

I think you've hit upon my problem there - didn't realise I needed a bluetooth modem, I thought the bluetooth connection could just bridge over to the phone GPRS connection.

I have a sitecomm bluetooth PC card... how do I get a bluetooth modem driver for this? The driver installation pack doesn't seem to have configured one.

Cheers
