Thats absolutely brilliant. Its something I've always wanted to do. Yeah make sure you get a Cooper engine in it and some bucket seats.

What year is it? It looks like a recent one.

i was thinking about putting a soft top in mine too,not sure how much it would cost though!

Posted by leeboy13
hey dicky! (and anyone else who may know)...

basically im looking into getting a good alarm system fro my mini, obviously an imoblisor is a must... but i wanted something loud to go with it.... any suggestions ideas as i have no idea on what to look for and don't wanna go to halfords to get my pants pulled down

thanking all!

Posted by batesie
clifford make good alarms, just depends on how much you want to spend!

shop around on ebay once youve decided on what you want, and then have a go at installing it yourself! its all good...

Posted by leeboy13
THX batesie mate!

will do that today theyre just so bloody easy to break into aint they lol

Posted by jcwhite_uk
When you are looking at installing the alarm consider getting it professionally installed as if you install it youself and anything happens then the insurance company might get funny about paying out as they will say that you installed it incorrectly or something like that.
As far as I am aware there is a limit to how loud alarms can be as they can be a nuisance as well as a antitheft deterant.
If you want it to bring down your insurance bills then check with your insurance company as to what you need to do and what alarms that they recommend so to keep them happy. Fitting the wrong alarm may not reduce an insurance bill.

agreed. Although i don't have an alarm in mine. Car crime aint really a problem over here. Next thing i'm doing to mine is putting spot lights on the grille, stripes on the bonnet and union jack on the roof .

Posted by leeboy13
wicked, thx for the posts peeps!

as far as bringing down my insurance , i dont reallyt care about that as its only £170 for the year for me anyway just wanted to make sure she dont get joy ridden adn broken into really.... and s.wales is quite bad for car crime to be honest

dicky, im getting the spots for the fron too (cheapest ive found is on ebay (4 spots and fixing bracket etc) for about £60 delivered..... (dont seem too much when you consider what youre getting in that pack.....

anyway, let me know if you find a better price

cheers guys!

Posted by Dicky Snapples
I'm getting some second hand ones from a fellow mini enthusiast.. Probably get them for half that price.

Posted by leeboy13
thats pretty hgood then matey,.....

wheres the best place to go to talk to other fellow mini peeps? i fear the ebay one aint the best lol.....

you going on the brighton rally mate? end of may?

Posted by Dicky Snapples
There is loads a sites out there. I've just joined up to the minispares forum ( minispares.com then click forum ) or www.theminiforum.com

Posted by Dicky Snapples

Posted by leeboy13
