Just got back from the preview evening. There's quite a good selection this year (bagged myself a nice little sculpture). If you're in or around London, and haven't been, I can really recommend going. If you're even remotely interested in contemporary art, you'll enjoy it. Nothing costs more than £3,000 but I spotted a couple of nice works starting at around £250, and if you want to spend less than that you can even find some small prints, gouaches, lithographies etc. from as little as £30. Even if you don't buy anything, you can spend a couple of hours just looking at the art, at the same time having a couple of (free) glasses of wine.
By the way, there's a free shuttle service from Sloane Square to the AFF and back (leaves from outside the Sloane Square Hotel).

is this not a bit of a contradiction in terms?
chances are if it's art it's not affordable!

i think your wrong there fatreg.
art all depends on a persons taste, a piece some one may like and others may not so you can get afordable pieces of art imo
