It's dependant isn't it? I got it wrong, there's a red underline... LOL
I'm very dependant on mine, especialy the camera. I'll see a photo to be taken nearly everywhere I go. The K800i, if it worked properly would fill this need perfectly. I'm getting a Samsung D900 to try.

I remember someone's (wifey) here saying that without her celfone SHE feels - naked

Total dependancy here!
I have given up the land-line, have just signed up to a 2 yr Voda contract, have laptop with Vodem 3G 1GB/month connection.
I use MPE to organise my life and my
phone to listen to my music and run my Powerpoint presentations via BT remote control.
Only an
can give me this freedom combined with an intuitive UI!

I need my mobile phone to stay connected. Have never left home without it, ever since I got one.

Quite an interesting syndrome.
Posted by aatuif
I use mobile primarily for internet, and secondarily to remain in touch with family and friends.
Don't have a hifi phone, just a barebone model. Doesn't have any ups than Wap and fm.
Am petty much dependant on it. But not a hardcore, can manage even without it. Remember man invented it, not that it invented man. May sound a bit awkward and obsolete thought, but i live by it.

Quality should count, not quantity. And i prefer the former. So answered separately. I can't understand why this war is waged against me. It was started by that mrao dude and it's gaining momentum by the day. There will be lots and lots of similar instances but I can't just understand why I am being singled out. Everybody is after me. People here average 20 or more posts per day and if i write 2 or 3 posts i am dubbed as a post count freak, ridiculed, and sweared at, as if i am a criminal.
@Mods. Please note. This attitude on the part of fellow Esatorians is unbecoming of them

@ aatuif, No one is against you.
If mrao is after you its because of your "atleast one thread a day" syndrome. Most of the threads that you create have been discussed before (Been there. Done that...you know?)I dont see any reason why anyone here should be against you. Having personally known mrao for years now,(he was my boss @ work
May I as well add that I have been through what you are going through right now. When I was a newbie here, every second reply to a new thread was mine..
My advice to you would be to mellow down on your posting style. Reply only when needed, as much a spossible, use one reply to answer multiple queries. Believe me, it works and you would be counted as just another member of this Esato family. We re a group of conservative minded folks in here ...
Once again...all this is being told with good intentions. I'm not targeting you. As i said, I have done what you are dong now..
EDIT: ooops sorry for going offtrack...may be we shd get back to topic now folks eh?

Let that mrao mind his kids rather than pester me.
I don't have any personal grudges against mrao. I was a fan of him as his posts were pretty witty. But his attitude towards me is very disappointing. He has become a policeman for me, much like George Bush is policing the world on HIS terms. Very sad days for me.

I have already outlined my points to you. Its up to you how you take it. And i see that its not only mrao who thinks you "doing" something extra. @deluded too felt similarly which is why he asked you point blank if youre on a mission to increase your post count. I do understand that this might have been unintentional from your side....but Three or more people going wrong at the same time?? And I would expect a lil more respect from your end to mrao. You may settle this with him personally to clarify things (via PM) so that the essence of this thread is not diluted anymore. THANKS.....

@whiz, I wanted to PM @aatuif786, but I felt that I should clarify here instead.
@aatuif786, I have nothing against you, and certainly no offence was intended. I merely asked out of curiosity. You do realise you can edit your post if you feel you have left out something important instead of posting a new reply, don't you? I am not aware of any disagreement you may have with mrao, and I can assure you, my views are purely personal and not influenced by any other poster.
"Quality should count, not quantity. And i prefer the former. So answered separately."
Doesn't that contradict what you did? If it's not quantity you're after, you would have replied in one post instead of two posts, less than 10 minutes apart.
"Everybody is after me. People here average 20 or more posts per day and if i write 2 or 3 posts i am dubbed as a post count freak, ridiculed, and sweared at, as if i am a criminal."
I'm pretty certain most people here who post 20 or more posts per day do not split their replies into 2 consecutive posts. I also have not seen any instances of anyone swearing at you. If indeed there is, then it certainly was uncalled for as it's bad manners.
You alleged that you have been singled out, but if two or more individuals have commented on the way you post, perhaps it is really something you can work on, as @whiz mentioned. After all, what would I, or any other person here, gain from commenting on how you post?
In any case, if I have caused you any distress by asking you why you split your replies into consecutive posts, I am truly sorry as it was definitely unintended. Do enjoy your stay here at Esato, as you would find that it is a great place to be. I also wish to apologise to the original poster and whiz for side-tracking, sorry about that.

Ok.
LET PEACE PREVAIL
Even if it is at the cost of my continuous humiliation. I won't mind.
Guys, it hurts, being sweared at, ridiculed and called names, (for trifle reasons, it is not a matter of someone's life and death. But a simple post in a thread.) but I am ready to apologise, for the sake of my love for Esato and Esatorians (barring a few who make a mountain out of a mole hill).

There's no need to pick on atif just because he sometimes replies to his own post. Occasionally a thread goes stale for a while and one wants to revive it or add a new thought. In my rugby thread during the 2005 Lions tour to NZ, I was the only one posting for quite some time, hardly any other kiwis post in the New Zealanders thread and Gelfens special place has become a lonely place now.
Noone accuses us of seeking the fame and prestige of an Esato >500 post count.
Back on topic...
My local bank has just released a downloadable Java app to manage all my transactions from my phone. This dependancy is increasing

@carkitter, I wasn't picking on atif, it was just a one-off query. I have not mentioned about it in any of his other threads. Also, I asked in particular why he had to split one reply into two consecutive posts, less than 10 minutes apart. If it had been a thread going stale like you've said, I'd know the intent was to just revive it. Anyway, if you've noticed, I've just retracted that post.
@aatuif786, please don't make it sound like everyone here on Esato is against you, I have not seen any evidence of that. I've also mentioned before that I've nothing against you. You're probably just too sensitive dude. Chill out man, enjoy your stay here.
Mods, seeing that the discussion here is more or less over, could someone lock this thread? Thanks.

As above, back on topic. I can still remember the days before I got my first mobile (pre-1996), and everything was so much more difficult re social engagements, keeping in touch etc.
Nowadays, I feel completely lost if I have forgotten my mobile (happens very seldomly), or if I run out of battery. If I dont't have a mobile to hand, it really does affect my social and business life. So, I suppose you're looking at a high-dependancy mobile user
