I open this thread for all the SE lovers who wants to talk about this phone. All that I know is that Sony Ericsson Sofia will have 5Mpx camera. Do you know some more specifications?

The K800 successor and could be named K850. Will support HSDPA 850. May be a UIQ phone without touchscreen, no scroll wheel, touch sensitive softkeys, and pickup/hangup keys. 5 megapixel camera with xenon flash and minimum QVGA @ 30fps video recording. Similar size to the K610 but 3mm wider (probably to accommodate the larger screen) to make it 102x48x17mm. It will have a metal based body and metallic keys. It will have a 2.4 inch 16 million colour BRAVIA branded screen which will be scratch resistant. EDGE and HSDPA. Will not have optical zoom. May use a white AF assist lamp so that it can double as a light for recording. Mechanical lens cover (similar to Sony T33). May have Walkman player v3.0. Will be released in September/October at roughly €485.

Keys info is already confirmed by some members here and at M-R. Will be the same metallic like K550i and W880i. So that`s nothing special. It fits perfect with the (half) metallic body!

The proto has the same feeling as the K*** range, a bit the metallic feel of W880i.. but that`s personal!

Yeah, but the whole point of the one thread was to keep everything neat and tidy. I don't think you'd really gain anything by having this thread apart from wishes of what people would want in the Sofia.

My biggest interest in this phone is in regards to thickness and availability.
Tomorrow I was going to buy the w880, but I'd prefer a slim cybershot camera instead. What is the thickness of this phone going to be? (stef?) 10mm like the w880, 12mm, 15mm like the w610?
When is it due to be announced? Maybe I should hold off making a new purchase until April.

swivel or slide it should be SLIM and not like the w900 or n95,and it should comme out as expected in june/july or SE will loose thousands of customers as they loosed 90% of expected P990 users because they launched it later...

The Sofia is said to be a cyber shot camera phone, it will be named as Sony Ericsson K850i. The Sony Ericsson K850i has a 2.2\" 256k colors TFT LCD screen with QVGA resolution. A 5 megapixel camera module is available and it should also have autofocus, anti-shake capability and xeon flash module. The phone is a 3G phone, there will be another sub video camera for video call.
The upcoming cyber shot phone could be announced this week and available in April next month, according to the leaked info.

About the VGA@30fps thing
if Sofia was only QVGA@30fps then Sofia's GPU is able to handle VGA@30fps, but SE just set it QVGA@30 for 2 reasons ( maybe one )
- stability issues when setting it VGA@30fps.
- leaving VGA@30fps for speciallized Video Mobile phone, I feel I'm going to this reason rather than the first
in any case, I think modders will be able to make profiles to enable VGA@30fps for Sofia, just like the improvment they did with K750/W800 camera software, but they didn't improve the video that much as K750/W800 hardware are limited, but Sofia's GPU is much powerfull.
I just hope Sofia DOES have that GoForce 5500 chip under it's hood...

Has anyone seen that digital camera by sony that has all touch screen on the back. The whole of the back of the digital camera is an led screen. Well i think it'd be cool if the front of the k850 was like that. Touch screen with a huge view. Then when you flip the phone over you slide down the camera cover the front of the phone becomes the viewer. It'd be cool for viewing pictures too. I wish i could photoshop what i mean.
