I didn't find any change on wap/wml version of the site, so all is good for me!

I liked the old one better, but I'm alright with the new one. The only thing I really think should come back is the logo.

Posted by axxxr
I think the old one was much better aswell, but some obviously like the new look.

pls dont forget, thats esao is laffens baby, so he has the right for any changes without permission. i dont like the logo and the layout, but esato will be as it always was, one of the most respected forums on the entire net! its up to us, how we fill it up, so we shouldnt focus on the layout, more that we all keep on to meet eachother here and support eachother.

esato is working fine, better than before

lets put it on that way. if a night club isnt working well, not the furnitures has to be changed... at esato, we are open 24/7 and th guests are usually more than happy when they leave

i find it abit cybershot style. i feel thike the warm soul of esato is lost and replaced by a cold cool look.
but i really liked the way it was.
something are better left like they are.

At the moment i am not liking the new forum for many reasons but as i have said before i am going to reserve my judgement until it is finished!

I don't like the brightness of the site and the fact that i have to turn the brightness down on my monitor to see who is online! nor do i like the fact the posts fill the screen, i think there should be an option to adjust the width, i really dont mind that a website doesn't use up all of my 19" screen, honest! i also don't like the way the photo's aren't handled correctly when trying to view them fully!

But like i say, i don't think laffen is finished yet and expect these and other glitches to be taken care of before he has, until then the old site gets my vote!

Mines a definate NO.
Miss the old one.

There's an answer-option missing: - "well,err...yes....makes a good beta-version but adjust after feedback!". Or along those lines. I couldn't say "no", "yes" nor the other... Voted "yes" eventually, but mostly to see the results (only 41 this afternoon after all the furore and indignation... Just like elections?!)

No offence to Laffen, but i really do reckon he should of consulted us the members before making such drastic changes. I know its his site, and he runs it, pay s for it maintains it with help from the mods etc and i know he can do what the hell he likes with this site but surely the people who keep the site alive, us the members should have a say, after all i know it wont happen but if everyone was to leave what would this place be..... nuthin.

Saying that, i have got used to the layout cant say i love it but meh....

not to get too close to laffen's ar*e, but I think he would've been foolish to "consult"... Could you imagine the flood of suggestions?! I'm sure he noticed some of the nag-posts over the time - and then bang! You can always make adjustments later! Don't get me wrong, I find it currently hard to maneauvre esato on w810 via opera mini, but it's o.k. on pc and my "man"'s e61...
But back to the point: how long do you suggest that consultation should've lasted? Realistically? Until every member contributed? A week? A year? Until YOU are happy but 500 "minorities" aren't...
No, I guess s.o. had to do it - BUT: he should now listen to suggestions.

Posted by scottt
I dont think you understood....

I would of said much the same method as se-nse. On there they came up with a few templates, made a poll and got general feedback on each and then implemented a design that everyone was happy with.

Posted by tmagberry
Surely the flood of suggestions would have been....just keep it the same...Its bi*ch to swap between Safari and Firefox just to use Easto....I know Mac users are a minority....but...

Anyway, I dont hate, i just dont spend as much time on the website, cos i get sore eyes and dizzy...

Can Esato pick up the tab for a new eye test?

Posted by BobaFett
honestly, how many of u would leave easto cos of a new layout? imo nobody... so lets get used to it and thats it

Posted by tmagberry
I wouldnt leave....i just dont stay on very long.....

It is a case of getting used to it....what was the reason for changing the layout?

And the Logo is going back in time....I had better graphic on my Spectrum ZX64

Posted by BobaFett
the reason is as laffen state, cos esato was calibrated for smaller screens or sg like that, now its better at view

@tmag here is laffens statement:

esato's success has always been down to its individual and unique look, by taking that away its made it look like the 100,000 or so other forums out there!

The Poll so far, clearly suggests that the majority are not happy with the change!

Posted by BobaFett
its imo just a kind of "beta" version, whn u read his statement, its mentioned there, that the logo isnt a final one...

Posted by djtwistter
hehe old is gold dont forget that

Posted by god1_jason
As i have said in another thread: the new layout is terrble with a capital T that rhymes with B which stands for boring.

The new layout is way too silvery and dull. I'm not saying the old esato is great too, but i think the old template is better. IMHO.

well its been long overdue,

laffen may say 'beta', I would say most changes like this are likly to evolve a bit after.

Can't wait to see it next month

Hi all,

Well other than the fact it freaked me out as one minute it was the old style and the next new. I did find it a little strange at first but now am quite used to it and do actually prefer it now and that includes the new high tech Logo.

Well I have posted some suggestions in one of the threads and I hope it is taken on board by laffen.

I do like the effort put into the look, but there are things to be tweaked, i.e. max width, new picture in thread options, and other aspects relating to the wider layout. Oh and the logo was fine as it was.

Posted by pachy
yes i quite like it.

Posted by DentyCracker
Hate it. Preferred the old one
This just looks nasty

Posted by ambyzown
I'm already getting used to it, a bit of change never hurts anyone. I think I like it.

I voted no. I've mentioned in another thread that although the new look is clean and sleek, I still prefer the old layout. It was somehow easier on the eyes. I'm slowly getting used to the new look, but I hope the problem with the online status indicator being very faint on Firefox and IE7 can be worked out soon.

Posted by axxxr
I think people are starting to change their opinons on the new look now!
