no, the fones are the best. dont like those sites, where everybody can upload weird images instead of avatars. its perfect as it is, its a serious site, not a chit chat show, like msn etc

I actually like the fact that there aren't a million different pix allowed... I find many forums extremely annoying because people seem more obsessed with decorating their posts than with writing them (not to mention thinking before they write them!!!).

Esato is mainly sony ericsson forum, so other phones avatars are not that good idea in my opinion.

i really like the way we have here in esato,unique,but i was wondering how would it be with anybody have their current using phone avatar showing,yes many people here use many phones but at least it could be the phone that they like or use the most

Can't say I would like to see a change. Mega fancy avatars detract from posts and ruin the idea of a phone forum. If you want nokia avatars surely you should be looking for a nokia forum anyway?

2yrs ago I'd most likely agree with this. But with such a HUGE thread regarding ppl NOT using the phones that their avatar claims - You'd be surprised how many PM's I get per mth from those wanting help with w810i's which I no longer own/use. With 2 large threads for Nokia S60 & E-Series users I think it would be fair to them and to others.
Esato IS a more :ericsson: and :SonyEricsson: dedicated site but its NOT ignorant to news or users than most ppl here would like or can stand. I keep coming back here for confirmed or knowledgeable news on SE phones - their business practice, but MOSTLY for a general consenus that SE users state about their phones. First & foremost is the forum & its users (GOOD & BAD) - as I have always loved the community, even the BAD users around here give me a laugh to enjoy.
Ppl have their reasons for switching - some always come back to SE phones (Me I'm considering owning a K790 - but I'm ROYALLY miffed that SE's promise for a BOND K790 didn't materialize = FRAUD) and some don't. With those that leave there is something out there for their needs that they'd like to have the choice to enjoy. of those coming back usually provide insight to what they enjoy on the "otherside" if you will.
Do I miss listening to music daily? Hell yes. Is my phone capable of that = sure. Is it as good as SE when it comes to music playback - Hell NO > but its nothing that a good written app & proper headset cannot remedy, OR an upgrade of the phone from the same manufacturer.
Different avatar would be nice! I think we'll see some VERY creative SE loving fan avatars as well.

Custom avatars can make a forum look messy which would affect Esato's clean layout.

@Jojo, ever the funny-man.
I agree with the general opinion that Esato should stay this way. I've been on other forums where the fanciful avatars and pictures in the signatures are so distracting, probably to make up for the lack of proper content. Like maggflodd mentioned, those posters spend too much decorating their posts and very little time thinking about what they're actually saying.

As this is mainly a Sony Ericsson forum, I think we should only have these SE avatars, plus perhaps one (and only one !) "general" avatar for non-SE users.
