hi, i bought a k750 yesterday and noticed the pictures wernt very good, but i thought maybe that is just the quality of the photos. but i then saw pictures from other k750's and they were much better quality.

heres a link to an example...

http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/7898/dsc00012pm7.jpg

i also have checked all settings and resolution is on full, and picture quality is 'fine'

thanks in advance for help

Try updating the phone's firmware, that may help a little.

Make sure the settings are all correct - i.e. it's not in night mode or macro mode for normal days shots.

Posted by dark_synth
how do you update the firmware. thnks

oh, and do you agree that the picture isnt k750 quality??? or is it just me?

u can use seus for fw upgrade, just visit se web

the quality of the pic depends of the light conditions that the pic was taken in also.

@dark - So you still GOT the STOCK firmware and perhaps with that of the cam-drive-version as well My K750 still has it's STOCK settings . . . no UPDATE has been done . . . and I can say that I can manage to TAKE nice shots too. Just always remember that there are certain factors to consider when taking some NICE-shots . . . . . . lighting condition, shaky-hands, attarctiveness of the OBJECT etc. etc. . . . and I can say that some K750's SHOTS can even OUTBEST that of the K800-photos (3.2 MP)

If you are into night-shootings, why not GET yourself an mxe-60 Xenon Flash mate (optional accessory attachment) . . . it will surely PUT some SPICE in your photos . . . take a look at this image I've taken at NIGHT Time with an mxe-60 xenon Flash on it . . .

Indoors:

Outdoors:

Good Luck !

Posted by wrecked_porsche
@Dark, Looking at the pic you posted, I'd say its normal. Turn on night mode and turn on the flash, i think it'll be marginally better. However if you go outdoors in the morning and take a pic, then you'll see how good the cam is.

Posted by procyon
I agree with previous posters, that the image is quite normal k750 quality.
Night mode and flash should really give better result.
Also some pictures you may have seen could have been processed to remove noise, or maybe custom camera drivers were used, that can in some circumstances give superior results.

Posted by tranced
@dark: You can change the differents White Balance(WB) settings to make your pics come better. change WB settings depending in the light conditions you take your pic.

Posted by dark_synth
Thanks all for your help, I took some photos outside too, and they still had the same, how to explain it... 'colour distortion' kinda thing going on. Like blue dots and things.

But I will try updating the firmware and things, if not, then I guess I must just be a bad photographer lol, but I can learn

Thanks again for all your help everyone

Posted by *Jojo*
@dark - So we can FULLY understand what you MEAN by here . . . can you UPLOAD on this page the pics taken from your K750 mate ? Thanks

Posted by tranced
upgrading your firmware phone wont make it better as the latest firmware has the same camera driver, 5.3. if you dare to upgrade you camera driver with a modified one, i bet your pics will turn out better. it is up to you.

Posted by deluded
@dark_synth, when you say you tried taking photos outside, do you mean in the day or at night? The night shots taken with my K750 also havethe red and blue specks. The day photos however, turn out great. I've also tried taking night shots with the LED on, as well as with the MXE-60, the noise is greatly reduced, so I recommend that you try both.

Posted by dark_synth
Right, I think I have figured it out, I think I just wasnt using the flash enough, because I was presuming artificial light from lamps would be enough, but with the flash on the phone, the picture quality is much better. Thanks again for your help.

Posted by *Jojo*
@dark - I am assuming that you POSTED an indoor-image-shot there mate Also, I assume that you USED an MXE-60 Xenon Flash on it As you cannot have a sharp-image like that using the fone's PLAIN: LIGHT on it . . .

Posted by dark_synth
Nope, that was the phones basic flash, and yes it was indoors

Posted by *Jojo*
@dark - That was too sharp for the built-in LIGHt of the K750i dude . . . can you post the DATE-STAMP in ON mode with your succeeding uploads pal Thanks!

Posted by tranced
@jojo: ooooh dear jojo, i cant understand your insistance in adding the date stamp on every photo we upload.

Posted by wrecked_porsche
Yeah jojo, you seem obsessed with the date stamp!
I think that pic was made with the built in flash, its possible to get pics like that, I've done it many times already.
BTW, is that a salad or a box of leaves?

@tranced - When I'm in DOUBT about those 'quite' SHARP images that were taken from their - K750's . . . I always demand a RECEIPT . . . and that is their Date Stamp - proof of purchase as they say

I'm kinda troubled about dark's last upload there . . . as he said that he just USED the built-in LIGHT on his K750i . . . my apologies here mates . . . as I never used that LIGHT-thing, mostly it's being assisted by my mxe-60 xenon flash .. .

Posted by wrecked_porsche
The Light is quite good when it comes to macro shot or close shots. IMO, it was sufficient for that shot.

Posted by tranced
so you doubt of mine too!

Posted by *Jojo*
@san - OK, sorry about that and I guess I''ll just have to REST my case here with dark's-issue here

@tranced - To be honest . . . in the EARLY stages of your - UPLOADs . . . YES . . . specially that image where the MAN is sharpening some-metal-like thingy and there were SPARKS coming-out (welding) . . . looks like it was taken from a digicam (considering that the LIGHTING was so dark/night time . . .)

Posted by tranced
i've managed to change my camdriver to the 8.52 and 8.53 and those driver have done magic with my photos. i adjust the settings (scenes, white balance, light conditions, etc) to get a good photo. one thing to know....I DONT HAVE A DIGICAM

Posted by *Jojo*
@tranced - I envy upgrading my cam-driver too mate from the STOCK - 4.5 to 8.5 . . . but I guess i'll just leave it as it is . . . as long as I have my xenon flash at night time (dark spots) . . .

Posted by deluded
@Jojo, I can't believe some of the pictures I see in the K750 pictures thread sometimes too! But I have also always firmly believed that the K750 has one of the best cameras around. I've tried taking macro pictures at night with the LED and the quality was surprisingly good. I can understand your rationale behind including the time-stamp, but personally I prefer not to have it as it spoils the picture somewhat.

Posted by Marly
The time-stamp certainly spoils the pic, I only use it, when I take a picture for an ad on an online marketplace, otherwise : never !

Posted by deluded
Yup, that's why I usually leave the time-stamp off. And I'm using the stock cam driver too, Jojo. I think we've both mentioned before that we don't wanna risk messing around with our firmware unnecessarily.

@tranced, I've seen some of the pictures you've taken before and I think they look as good as those taken with a digicam, so I think Jojo can be pardoned for thinking they weren't taken with your phone.

actuallu he can jojo..with the comapatible driver for his phone and proper adjustments..he can achieve that shot

all my pics are taken with my k750. if you go to the photo section you will see that all the pics have the phone model that they were taken with. so i say why you doubt . when i take a photo, i get inspired.

note: i know i'm good with photos

Posted by deluded
@tranced, no worries mate, I'd take your word for it any day. I get what you mean about getting inspired when taking your pictures. Sometimes, you just happen to look around and suddenly everything falls into place so nicely that you know you just have to take a picture.

Edit: Decided to include the very first picture I took with my K750i. I was amazed at the quality. I believe macro mode and LED were on, but I can't remember if I turned on night-mode.

The same picture taken with a Canon PowerShot A430

Wow, I didn't think my picture would cause such a stir lol

@sanjeevjaya

its a box of scented dry leaves lol, it was on my living room table, and I thought it would be a nice subject

@jojo

I will put the time stamp on future photos, just for you

Posted by *Jojo*
@deluded - Yup, but my POINT in asking for the date-stamp to be: ON was just to check it fit's really been taken from aK750i fone That G-Shock shots are a BIT-sharp too mate . . .

@dark - OK. I'll wait for that . . .

Posted by deluded
@Jojo, I get what you mean, seeing is believing eh? And yeah, the G-shock looks pretty sharp, thank goodness I left the time-stamp on, or you'd start doubting me too. Haha...

Posted by *Jojo*
@deluded - I just made a re-READ on your post with images in this page . . . all along I thought that the Casio G-Shock you took were both from your K750i . . but the 2nd one was taken from a digicam (Canon) . . . was it a 4 or 5 MP one? To be honest, the FIRST image (K750i) looks BETTER than the other one

Posted by deluded
@Jojo, The first picture was taken with a my K750i, the second, with a 4-megapixel Canon digital camera. The one taken with the Canon was in macro-mode, with flash on. The details from the one taken with the K750i seem better to me too.

Posted by *Jojo*
@deluded - I am wondering how will it FAIR, if your CASIO G-shock watch was taken from a CASIO Exilim digicam

Posted by tranced
k750 = quality

Posted by deluded
@Jojo, I'm not too sure about that mate! Haha... To be honest, I think the Canon would do a better job. Or even my K750i, love it!

Hi Folks ,

I am facing the same problem as dark_synth. Look at the picture I took with my new K750i (bought 1 week ago) in the morning sunlight. When we see it in its full size it get distorted (noisy). I just cant understand why is this happening? I have checked with both nightmode on and off.
Please share your views about this.

I have seen tranced's photo album. It was great !! all pics have amazing quality. how did u ??

Posted by tranced
@kapil: i cant see the pics. Did you disable the bbcodes in this post? Well, i've been using different camdrivers so far. My phone's a cid36 R1CA021
