O2 "socket" settings

In Opera Mini's settings, there are two options for Network -> Protocol: socket and HTTP. I am on O2 UK and, until recently, the Internet settings I was using allowed me to use the socket option. I am now using the HTTP option but I do not like how Opera Mini disconnects after a period of inactivity. Is anybody able to provide working settings that will allow me to use the socket option again?
