I've posted this question in the battery thread, but havn't gotten an answer so I decided to ask here.

I've got a T68i. Is this battery type succeptable to the memory effect? I guess I'm asking can I charge and discharge as much as I want when I want and not have to worry, or do I have to discharge fully then charge fully every time.

thanks

no memory effects for Lithium batts.
memory effects are in Ni-Cd and Ni-MH.

so i can do whatever with this battery and it won't hurt it's life?

Yes,there's no memory effect with Lithium battery, but is good for its life to full discharge it once a week.Every batt's life is about 300-500 charges... So - you decide how and when to charge your batt

snap - When is it best to recharge the Li-ion type battery?
I think no one else can answer this question better than the company who manufactures Li-Ion cells themselves. (GSBattery)

So take this advice from them:

Lithium ion does not suffer from any ill effects from constant charging. However, in general, it is best to keep the battery charged up when ever possible. You see, battery cycle life is shortened by deep discharging, meaning that if you discharge the battery fully, that has a greater long-term ill effect on the battery than if you discharged it only 50% and then recharged it. The best way to maximize the life of your cell is to avoid deep discharges in general. Best of luck,

David Sugrue
GS Battery (USA) Inc.

hope this is enough to eliminate all the confusion and worries about your batteries

So the T68i has a Li-ion battery then. I thought someone had told me before that it had a Li-Pol, but I guess they were wrong. Ok, thanks.

snap:
t68s have Lithium Polymer batteries.

Lithium Polymer batteries share all of the benefits of Li-Ion plus can last up to twice as long.

i use my phone until i dry out the battery! It'll last a year anyway! And after a year i am sure i and u, guys, will change phones! So... i am not saying this subject is useless but , still, don't trouble urselves too much with it:P

@porter - it says "can last up to twice as long" no one says "it will"

@701 - I really don't care about the battery but I do care about those who are asking for help.
