Erm.............
Firstly you should sort your data tariff!
Or else you are left with what is basically a pretty Sh!t phone!
Posted by PeterKay
can i not use it as it is for now?
thinkin of leaving voda.
How does this PIN thing work?
Posted by Nanu
For all the BB functions PK you need the BIS!
You can leave Voda from early march if I remember rightly??
You "should" be able to activate BB on that account without tying in to a longer contract and "should" be able to cancel the BB data plan at anytime, I know this is the case for T-Mob and O2 at least!

Even if you are thinking of leaving Voda, the BB Tariff is a BoltOn. And therefore will end when you end your contract by an means.
I therefore suggest you get your newly arrived BB, call VF Customer Services and get the BB Data Tariff...
Then we can all add your PIN....

Do this...
Go to Phone part of the BB (Hit the Send Key) then Click the Trackwheel and go to Options -- General Options --Dial from Home Screen - Change that to No and Save and then exit.
Then from Home screen where the menu is - Hit K

Hey guys, read on BBForums a few ppl are getting UMA working in UK on BT Broadband in kent, Orange, talktalk and UKonline, using netgear, linksys and draytek routers.
Does Tmobile UK/Germany have UMA working ??

Also a site has confirmed directly from co-Cheif Operating Officer Ballsilie that an HSDPA BB is on the way and soon!
(I'm guessing 2more qtrs at best before AT&T Wireless gets first dibs, but ships late and Rogers Wireless here in Canada ships within 2wks and with European bands (if it isn't a Tri/Quadband HSDPA already) to ship within 30days then. So time/date on my best guess = June 21st/2008).
Again its a guess. I'm hoping MUCH earlier.
I'm so happy that I haven't upgraded to the K850i just yet. I still want one. And with new revised BB Data pricing here in Canada to debut 3/21/2008 ... well lets just say with 20MB of web, and 200MB of BIS/BES Email/Attachments will be included. It still sucks but I'm getting MUCH closer to affordability in having my Pearl back!
Either that or I'll just have a roaming account from the US. I'll figure this out.
PS Does any of you long time users STILL play around with the device just out of boardem to see if you can find something new?

leeboy, O2 let you have £35/month 18-month and you can have 600 minutes, 1000 texts and unlimited internet on your phone. I'm assuming and hopeing myself that includes BB, although they have a seperate £10/month add on for that, so maybe not. Either way, worth checking.

That would be £45 then!!
I pay T-mobile £35/month for 400mins x-net, 500 texts, W 'n' W unlimited and BIS!
And that's on there sim only 20 deal so I can cancel any time I just brought my own phone to the table!
Posted by zootzoot
is there any software for the curve that can change the colour of the track ball...
thanks
Posted by Marc_SE
AFAIK, you can't change the colour as the backlight is provided by a white LED/light (where the Pearl's is made up of red; green and blue LED/lights).
Posted by leeboy13
^^ whast the curves made of? just white?
Posted by Daedalus85
Nanu, I was saying that'd be good ASSUMING O2 let you use the free Unlimited Web bolt on for BB. I'll find out soon when I get my BB lol
And we do sim only too, you could have that same deal as above with unlimited internet for £25 on a 30 day contract
So infact, if you add the £10 a month BB on top of that, you've got 600 minutes, 1000 texts, unlimited web AND BB for £35/month, somewhat better than yours, no?

@ Daedalus
Yeah you could do the same with O2's Simplicity if they stopped being Gay and allowed you to actually add BIS to the simplicity plan, as this is what I originally wanted to do but O2 weren't playing ball so I left them for T-Mobile!!

How many colours does that Pearl BB come in?
I saw it Window browsing in Pink @ CPW yesty

You can get the pearls in white, black, red, blue and pink me thinks

From memory, there's black, navy blue, titanium grey, pink, red, white....and I think thats it. CPW have all of them apart from navy blue, thats O2's
Bear in mind, this includes the 8100, 8110 and 8120.

I'll have a pink 8120 soon....
ordered the housing from CNN
Just need to find a pink keypad if anyone knows of anywhere?
Posted by Daedalus85
Lol, if you don't mind me asking (and I'm prolly not the first person to ask either), but why all the pink phones?
I mean, I'm gay and I'm happy with that and therefore I'm comfortable with possibly having a pink phone. I've almost bought, in the past, a Siemens CF62 in baby pink, and a few others, simply because they were lovely in pink lol.
But whats your reason?
