wifis not playing game

it connects to my network but the wifi logo doesn't go dark and it won't use the wifi connection!?

any ideas people?

Other than ...
1> WiFi AP (yours) being MAC filtered? (Hopefully not if not put Pearl 2's MAC address to allow connection).
2> No Ad-Hoc on BB or on AP.
3> All WiFi settings in Adv. Options ready?
4> Are you trying to Surf with the Browser? Or the WiFi Browser? Use the Latter on WiFi netowrk.

HRT to have network reregister and force to have WiFi service books resent or call provider to request to re-send.

@Burgaz

Just a word of warning although you may be lucky i got hit by HM Customs for £16 on a $88 Vaja case for my iPod, that's like nearly 40% extra on the cost. No i wasn't happy about it either and have no idea how they manged to get that figure to charge me either.

I've got Dope wars on mine!

Yahoo go is pretty good and it's on beta 3 for blackberry!

Audibleair for all your audio books!

Flipside is good, it's a bit like coverflow on the iPhone but at $20 it's a No from me! (cool app though!)

Viigo, cracking RSS reader a must for any BlackBerry!

Jivetalk, Well worth the licence fee unlike the BBC! the only appp I have ever glady paid for and Fatraj will tell you the same! It is the best Instant messaging program ever!!!!!!

BBweather is another good freebie! does what it says on the tin!

And also Empower HTML viewer again there is a charge for this but it shows emails as they should look (well near enough) so another good app if you require it! BlackBerry may well be building HTML viewers in future Phones so not to worry!!

I know you've had a BB before so you'll know about some of the above but it's always worth a refresh!

Posted by fatreg
ahhh facebook on BB...

you have got to love it!

Posted by Burgaz
Cheers Nanu! Some good ones there!

I've just discovered that Zedge have started doing BB wallpapers and stuff now... I remember when i had my BB before it was a nightmare finding things like that for it!

Posted by Nanu
You only need one theme for the curve and that's the Apple Tiger theme! I repeat Apple Tiger NOT Apple Tizer! Totally different ball game entirely!

Posted by Burgaz
My BB has been delayed

Posted by fatreg
patience is a virtue...

but i want a Curve not a Virtue

Consider the price difference is negligable you SHOULD've got the GPS. Apps like Facebook, Yahoo will take on a WHOLE new meaning with presence enabled when the next versions debut.

BBWeather is a must.

I still have Dop Wars as well! But its NOT as easy I recall the original many years ago on my long gone Palm m500.

You'll need more than 1 theme, there are SEVERAL iterations of the Tiger theme or Apple Themes.

Posted by Burgaz
Don't really want an apple theme... Unless it does look nice? I just like themes that look good an normally suit the actual colour of the phone...

Oh and can anyone recommend a case? I don't need a belt clip, i'm not into crystal cases and i want something that doesn't make the phone twice as big lol. I was gonna go with a Vaja Case and still will (even at the risk of getting charged inport tax) unless anyone can recommend any other?

I have a Vaja case on mine and its one of the best cases on the market. But also RexRegina are about to come out with a new Curve and Pearl Pouch and they will be well worth a look.

Looks like the BB community is continuing to grow.

Posted by Nanu
The Tiger theme I have running is nice Burgaz I have posted a piccy a few pages back if you would like to evaluate it!

Has *JoJo* hacked into Prom's ACCOUNT?

Posted by Berry
L Theme is much better Nanu...

Posted by Nanu
Only for those with an untidy desktop!!

Posted by Burgaz
So where do you guys get your themes and other resources from? I only know of www.crackberry.com

Posted by fatreg
PIN messages from almighty god normally!

Posted by Burgaz
lol are we talking about tmag then?

Posted by Nanu
Yup!!

He beautifully crafts the themes and then share them among us his disciples!

I at least I think that's how it works!

Posted by Burgaz
So what's the media player like on the Curve? What's video play back like? What video formats does it support?

Posted by Nanu
I think the Media player is excellent on the Curve and video play back is excellent also, it is the only device I have watched a 60min video clip on without the audio losing sync!!

The bundled Roxio software will sort you out regarding format as it is really good and simple to use though conversion can take a while!

Posted by Burgaz
Lovely...!

Well i'm off to waste some more time over on XBL.

Cheerios

Burgaz.

Posted by Burgaz
Here's a question for ya... Can i use my hotmail account with my BB or is it time i cleaned up my gmail account?

Posted by Berry
You can use Hotmail but would probably urge you to use Gmail as not all Hotmails work. Some need the Premier Service.

But aside of that you'll get back in the fold....

Have you got it yet?

Posted by Burgaz
Nope...

Should here tomorrow now though...

Can't wait! I've clean up my gmail account now though i'll have to ring orange tomorrow and get my APN sorted or can i do that today?

Posted by Berry
APN or Blackberry Data Account Activated. ?

APN is just something you can do...the Data Account i would do now....Get a decent mb package though...

Posted by Burgaz
G'ah the blackberry acount i mean... I've already got a 35MB bundle on my account...

Posted by Burgaz
ah... I've just checked on the orange blackberry site and all i need is my new PIN and imei no and i'm off! woo!

Posted by fatreg
BB will be with buggers tomorrow!

Posted by Burgaz
Lovely!

And stop calling me Buggers

Posted by zootzoot
im getting my new curve soon...

Posted by zootzoot

Can someone please confirm that the 8300 does support file transfer via bluetooth?

Posted by fatreg
yes Burgaz

you need a mem card it it though....

Posted by Burgaz
Woo! That was one thing that really pissed me off on the 8700...

Posted by fatreg
I might have lied to you Burgaz..

just tried it from my mac to my 8120 and it says my device does not have the necessary functions!

Sorry!

Posted by Burgaz
Hmmm... I swear i read on the specs on the BB site it does? Hmmm... might have to check out http://www.crackberry.com and see if they can shine any light?

Talking of crackberry is Tmag still a mod over there or summat? Or does anyone here actually post there anymore... From what i can remember of it those damn americans really didn't get us brits...

Found this... Says you can but you have to set up the right thing first... last but one post...

I think my title at Crackberry.com is :

Former Moderator now Crackberry God.

I gave up the moderating to concentrate on TeachBlackberry.co.uk and also the reviewing of BBs and extras.

Got it yet Burgaz?

Not a bad idea, just add to your signature. Those of us that use, troubleshoot, or love BB's would come to this thread anyway right?

When i entre the PIN and imei on the orangeBB webstie it says this information is not valid for this service provider... What do i do?

Posted by Berry
Do you have Capital GPRS? in the top screen? If so go to:

Options -- Advanced Options -- Host Routing Table - Register Now.

Now try again.
