Am I able to set up push mail for 2 different accounts? IE My work MS Exchange mail and my personal hotmail.
Thanks
Posted by jcwhite_uk
I currently use 6 different email accounts on my BB. BIS accounts let you set up 10 email accounts.

IT depends upon how you're accessing your work Exchange account.
1. If your work has a BES architecture in place with MS Exchange then its possible that they have disabled , BES IT Policy, allowing for personal email to be pushed. IF so the only way around this is to ask for being put into a group or have the IT Policy allow you to have both. Depending on what kind of business your work is into this may not be possible as corporate information can be easily emailed/forwarded to/through your personal email account.
2. If your work has Exchange 2007 running in production servers, and allows for OWA, its possible you can ask for POP3 to be enabled on OWA. IF this is done then YES you CAN have your personal email (BIS) and your corporate email (POP3+Exchange 2007) running simultaneously.
Regardless if BlackBerry's allow for up to 10 personal email accounts (BIS) the BES IT Policy if restricts personal emails will override this entirely! And if you think that enabling personal email FIRST before completing Enterprise Activation on your BB for corporate BES will bypass this ... 9/10 the E.A. will either a) FAIL or b) remove your personal email push account to your devices PIN and most likely delete that email db from the device.
most users on these boards hate my long posts, thats fine. But I give informative information, not verbatim from a site that will be false if not properly put into context .

back on the storm.
heres my new pin. 20d27a75
Posted by gtr83
Mates any of you experienced the notification error on the Storm? i.e. the device plays the default alerts even though I have customized the ring tones. And on the set ring tones screen, when I click Try it no sound is played. The default sounds still get played so this is obviously not a hardware error. Tried soft resetting and hard resetting to no avail. Battery Pull also does no good.
Any help much appreciated! My PIN is, by the way: 20CD6613

Hello, can anybody recommend Facebook, myspace, msn and twitter blackberry apps that use wi-fi?
Thanks.
Posted by jcwhite_uk
Facbook. MSN and Myspace apps are available direct from Blackberry via the Appstore or here:
MSN
Myspace
There are several Twitter Apps. Heres a few:

Thanks JC, but the app store runs of your Data, not wi-fi.
I need ones people are SURE work with wi-fi.
Sorry to be picky

I just turned of the mobile phone part of my Bold and appworld works fine on WIFI. Facebook and Live Messsenger work on WIFi as well.

Most parts of a Wifi BB will work however unless you have UMA not all the BB functions can operate.

Most parts of a WiFi BB will work however you will need the service books in place for the BB functions to operate.
What you need is a back up of service books (less email and calendar SB's) from somebody using the same device on the same network, then install said service books on to your own device and et voila!
Posted by Berry
We had this before and is doesnt always work and like said, UMA allows ALL functionality throug the Wifi. Seeing as you couldnt make calls...when turning the signal off - Otherwise they would make UMA handsets surely.
I tried various service book options from people using same handsets and its not a 100% method.
But no doubt i will be wrong and sure you'll say something

Well i suppose I could give it a try

There's only Zoots with a Storm mate and he hasn't got a clue how to use it, you're probably better addressing your problem at crackberry.com as there will be a larger Storm user base over there.
The only thing I could think of is if you are changing the notifications for one profile such as Loud but having Normal activated instead.
Posted by thomas93
Burgaz - Yarh, probably maytey. I tohugh becausethe messenger opens up I would get it for free
Enquired to Orange regarding BB PAYG palns. I need to top up £10 and £5 goes to a BB tarriff. So I may get a second sim but only if I can put in £5 a month for BB then have my other SIM for my free texts.

No solid replacements announced yet, although there is rumour the Bold may get a TS and more solidly a Curve (onyx) with optical trackball is rumoured to be nearing production
Posted by fatreg
a TS? you what? why would RIM release a transexual!?
Posted by Berry
Supposedly the 8520 but as Nanu said, waiting for official confirmation

Think i might give the 8900 a go, if i am on o2 contract and have the web bolt on will they be able to change it to the bb?
also what if i go onto simplicity in september will i still be ale to use all the bb features?
Posted by Nanu
@p900 lover Yes and Yes! but I think there is a minimum tariff you have to be on to get the bolt on, I can have it on my £20 simplicity
Posted by Trev1982
@p990 yeah im on simplicity the online dfeal is much better than the shop, and yeah you can have the bb data plan

Remember The Milk, will do all this for you and give you the ability to sync OTA and it will integrate with Google calendar as well I now believe, only trouble is you have to pay for it and in true BB stylie it ain't cheap!

I've just got my upgade, I used to use a BB 8120 (on O2), I've now got a 8900 on an increeased tarrif. On my old tarrif I used BB pay-as-you-use which was ok at first but as I increased my use obviously by bills increased. Now I've got a BlackBerry unlimited data/email allowance, my question is, I like to change around my collection of BlackBerry handsets, is this allowance linked to the upgrade handsets pin or imei or can it be used through any BlackBerry handset I use?
Posted by jcwhite_uk
It is on your mobile account so is not restricted to one PIN.

If you where in North America - I'd say wait another 3mths to see the release of Onyx. You get the Bold hardware, in slim 8900 style with Bold keyboard and the TrackSensor.
I'm going to be heavily weighing navigational speeds of:
BB Onyx
vs
Nokia E72
This fall.

^ I'd agree with Berry the guru ... however its dependant on your provider & branding ... here in RIM home country on Rogers Wireless many ppl have issues with 8120 (UMA) and Bold (non-UMA) in browsing over WiFi and using apps on WiFi.
It seems that if no data plan is on your IMSI then WLAN browsing or apps on WiFi are limited with service books being installed from BIS: installing them using BBDM doesn't seem to remedy the situation. Not all apps are affected in this situation, but ones that "should" work do not see the wlan connection regardless of settings, setup, connection strength. This may have been changed/resolved since December last year - but I haven't used a BB since then.
I may just buy an 8900 next week - this Nokia N85 is being a SERIOUS pain in the ass and I cannot be productive on it.

Hi, just wanted to know, do all BB phones' display turn on and off when they are in or taken out of their pouches respectively? what about other brands?
