TeleNav is a GREAT application and check if your provider offers a deal like say $10/mth Unlimited for Turn by Turn based navigation ... screw checking for a deal if you have TRUE unlimited data / mth!

OTA link:
http://ota.telenav.com/ota/at
http://ota.telenav.com/ota/tn
* You can start the TeleNav GPS Navigator application by clicking the icon on the Home Screen. The first time you launch the application, TeleNav GPS Navigator will request you to grant certain permissions. Click to accept all of these and check the box so it doesn't ask you again.

Credit Goes to Stinssondog over at BBForums.

INFOSpace FindIt!
- great app for "presence" location services.

GoogleMaps
http://www.google.com/gmm/app[....]rry&model=8300+v4+1&ver=v1.5.4
^ that is the OTA Link
Version 1.6.1 (Last version with "Find Business" and "Find Location" as options - has been replaced with "Search" in version 1.6.2 and on)

PS I'm also an jr. admin.
BES 4.1.23 SP2.

* On my way to Learn Java then Rimlets then SQL & MS Exchange.
Looking for some PDF or CD/DVD trainig modules for AD (Active Directory) and MS Exchange). If anyone has training software and can help send me a PM with details ... thank you.

We have only just got the BES so we are still learning. We are using it with Lotus Notes and it works really well.

For now it does .... I'll feel you pain when launching corporate apps behind MDS and unique errors begin. Just a juniors opinion so it doesn't mean much ... I just see issues all day long on IBM's internal blog with BES & Notes Domino.

But I'm glad somebody is giving it a true go-ahead.

Curious ... have you launched SameTime Server on Domino with the BB client app yet?

We dont use same time so no.
One problem that we have encountered is with folders. My folders in Notes also appear on my Blackberry but on the Blackberry the folders are empty. This problem also means that my rules setup in notes that send emails to these folders mean that my blackberry does not receive these ruled emails. Anyone know why?

Are these folders PART of your username.nsf file from the SERVER or from your archive file in use? not sure if this is like the .pst personal folders in outlook.

* I got lots of calls today so I cannot lookup on work db for troubleshooting but if you don't find an answer tonight I'll do my best to find one for you tomorrow night

Wanted to post a solution to really enjoy GPS (hardware & software solution for personal usuage). Ever have your ride stolen and the cops take too long to find it?

PS I'm in NO way affiliated, paid, endorsed, stock options, nor own any stock in this company ... and seeing how my family is mostly in Cuba/Jamaica/UK I HIGHLY doubt that they are either.

Peace.

Yeah either reload the firmware or send it in for an exchange. I caused the SAME issue (unable to scroll-up or the double select) on my 1st Pearl. Caused by Rubbing alcohol cleaning on the trackball. But I just tried to troubleshoot YOUR issue just 2 days ago, seeing it happen here and there (more often than I wanna see) to no avail.

simplicity ....

get it replaced > BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP ALL data!

Don't forget to REMOVE your SIM & MicroSD card.

Cheers people.

It's been sent away to RIM so we will see what happens..

although I should be getting a Pearl 2 tomorrow!

words of advice on the Pearl (if u've never used one before). Great device bar none. Still an adequate & VERY clear screen even in sunlight. Caution goes to entering data. You've already gotton used to the Curve so some highlights:

1> shortcuts are slightly different for review specific email, browser, etc.
2> PW entry (no matter where you're entering a pw: device, pop3/imap setup, applications) is ALWAYS Tap , NOT SureType.
3> return of the candybar will allow for better 1 handed navigation compared to the Curve.

Posted by fatreg
yeah I've a few reservations about the Pearl 2, but if all doesn't go to plan I'll sell it and use my Curve when I get it back!

but i love the form factor of the pearl, and yeah it can be used one handed, something I've missed with the 7290, 8700, 8800 and Curve.

I had a quick bat at suretype in car phone last night and I think I can safely say it's going to take me hours to get used to it! but hey ho!

Posted by tmagberry
Mate, i reckon that Pearl 2 will be sold in weeks

Posted by fatreg
hehe you reckon?

I've got it

so glad i did restore from my curve to the pearl none of my settings are there and none of my apps are..

oh! and jivetalk doesn't work on an 8120!

GRRRR

Sorted jivetalk

happy days!

loads of peeps have had issues getting hotmail set up, mine has worked flawlessly since day one!?

Posted by EastCoastStar
i said 2nd party haha i meant 3rd! haha sorry about that

fatreg ... 3rd party apps CAN use WiFi! Opera Mini is one FINE example. Turn off your GSM radio. Test using the WiFi Browser to surf a site. then launch Opera give it a whirl. minor setting may be needed, I'm unsure where but check on BBForums. I'm sure you'll find a solution there.

it connects to my network but the wifi logo doesn't go dark and it won't use the wifi connection!?

any ideas people?

Yes - Put it back in the box and go swap it again.

Reload OS? Might be worth the hassle. What have you got to lose? Swap it if its not working...
