Does bb have a homescreen that supports plugins? Not seen anything but it must have something to be a business phone.
All Java based BB's support augmentation of the homescreen. I've seen a screenshot of one; no layers and not sure which app was used to create it.
Wish I could find it.
But if you mean plugins like Widgets? Nope.

Cheers Prom. I didn't know it was customisable at all. Anyway to get calender notes and recent emails on the homescreen? And 3rd party ones like WM and s60 supports?

Certain themes show appointments and mesages on the home screen. The Today theme for example.

av jus ordered an oem housing from a shop and i'm going to be sanding it down and re-spraying it.... will post some pics up once its done!
Until then keep yeh fingers crossed... housing should be here within a week.
Colour wise i av ordered a tangello spray, wicked lime green and a pearlescent black....
Gonna try the tangello first

If it comes out ok i'll pay good money for a lime green curve housing!!!!
And Tmag i didn't claim it was my home screen
Posted by voda_jon
am hopin it should b fine.... gonna prepare a lot before doin it... got ma guide for takin the curve apart to fit the new housing, have the ultra fine sand paper for takin the top layer of paint off the housing, have the white plastic primer for undercoatin it lol...
then i have the various paints on their way. High quality grafitti paint as its nice and thick and doesnt run but can still be applied to plastic and isnt too thick lol.
and finally have my work area ready so all am waiting for is the paint and housing then its all go! if its easy to paint and they come out good then i might start doing them up for ppl and selling them on!

No don't do that just yet!
* ALT+L+G+L+G ... Clear out your logs ... they problably older than 3mths.
* Media Options: Limite Device Mem. to 12/15MB. Reserve Picture Mem. to 2MB - 5MB if you need it but Device Mem to 12MBSet your memory usuage limits to 5MB Pictures (maybe 10), and the rest totally 15MB. Save changes and reboot.
* clear out any emails (especially those with Attachments you need yet have already saved to MicroSD for viewing later.)
* Reboot again.
Hope this helps. Also .... take careful to run 1 of the apps you normally run (beyond system apps) at a time for a day ... I have a feeling one of them is a MEMORY HOG and eating up all available memory.

there are lots of unlocking sites on the net

Ok here's a question, I will be travelling to Zimbabwe soon and I know they dont have blackberry but I have heard that they recently activated the GPRS on the network. So does BB require the network to be running something for my emails to be pulled from 02 UK (Roaming) or will the normal GPRS do the trick?
P.s I am so glad I went with O2 damn just checked my data usage from 22nd March to 10 April and I have just hit 300Mb, and I was thinking I would go with Orange and its measly 6Mb allowance boy wouldn't I be screwed now.

According to the o2 website there is no reason why it won't work but it will be £6 per MB
Posted by Berry
Orange have started an "unlimited BB Data Plan" today.. Well capped at 250mb fair usage....atleast they have improved....
Still i guess that helped soften the blow that they cant help but screw around with their BBs

Actually o2 has some international data plan you pay £25 for a month but you have to stay signed up for like 6 months, thats not to bad as il be out of the country for maybe 3 to 4 months.
Posted by fatreg
250mb for £10 or Orange BB now, on a 12 month contract, I understand it's less for a longer contract...
cheers for the heads up tbag
Posted by Daedalus85
Can you have that as BB standalone though? IE no voice tariff?
Posted by fatreg
Mais oui!
not sure on cost for that though...
24mth - £10.70
18mth - £12.20
12mth - £14.70
£176.40 for 2.92GB over a year......
I may well be getting another BB at this rate.... even if it is to sell it on

Hi all
Thought this would be the place to ask as you know i am already interested in the 9000 due soon. But has any one heard of the rumor or got any further information about an alleged tilt and slide multi touch screen BB? As my current source for this rumor is the not so reliable Stuff Magazine.

@Dogg ... ur guess is as good as anybody's ... Boygeniusreports.com has leaked lots of solid hits sometimes the details where miffed slightly and I mean SLIGHTLY but hardware was DEAD on! Track record just over 1 year. Touch screen BB ... I don't see over coming to light, but it may be a new product line entirely not under the BlackBerry brand-name.
Posted by Dogmann
@Prom1
But isn't the new confirmed 9000 series a touchscreen device and that is confirmed? i was just interested in if anyone had heard of this tilt and slide Multi touch device or not.

The 9000 is not confirmed touchscreen and from the pictures doesnt look touch screen at all. Also no side slot for a stylus.

Dogman was talking about 2 seperate topics in 2 seperate sentences

There might be two or three 9000 series, ala 9100, 9300 and 9800? So a touchscreen might be on one of them.

I've given up
I keep getting memory leaks and it's really really really annoying....
I've done all the steps prom1 said about and still no joy.
I never ever had this issue on any other BB...why the 8120?
Is there a like system manager available that will close down apps after 5 mins in inactivity or so?
it's the only way I can think of getting my BB to work!
Please help! I'm a man in need...

Hi all
Actually i was discussing two different devices sorry for any confusion my posts may have caused. I was under the impression that that the new 9000 series besides having 3G, WiFi and GPS was going to also be a touchscreen at least that's what i remember reading.
The second device i was asking about is indeed a fresh rumor i had read in Stuff magazine and was just asking if anyone knew anything about it or not?
As i have previously stated i may well be interested in one of these next generation BB devices but it will need to see it in action before i decide and it will need to be quite special to make me leave my ever improving E90.

Dude thats just TOO Slow!
Nokia PC Suite. Sync all your Contacts, Memos, Photos, Videos, etc.
Install BBDM for desktop. Sync ... enjoy how quick all those Contacts, Memos, Photos, (Videos if in mp4, mov, 3gp with a 320x240 or lower resolution "should" be viewable on the CurveGPS), etc go over. Difference of 10+Minutes ... and less likely you'll forget something.
Posted by j0be
Cheers for your advise guys, have tried both ways and now synced. Thanks.
