Well, I just realized when I transfer a pict via bluetooth from my wife Z610 that has R1JC. I don't need to enable bluetooth first on Z610. Just choose More->Send->via bluetooth. Z610 finds my PC (has bluetooth 2.0 dongle) automatically and transfer my file. It also find Nokia phone that I don't know from where (because I ban Nokia in my house

AFAIK you never need to turn on bluetooth to send files. Just to receive them. Also, if you didn't turn BT on before you started a transfer, your phone's bluetooth will be on, but hidden. I've never had to turn it on to send something on any of my phones. Guess you were just missing out.

Thanks, My older phone is S700 and I think it needs to turn on bluetooth before I can transfer file via bluetooth. So I am getting used to switching bluetooth on/off before file transfer/pairing.
It is very convenience this way but hope it won't make any security risk. However can you do that (no need to turn on bluetooth on phone) with bluetooth headset provided you have paired them before?

Hm I try transfering file from PC to phone with K800i and R1GB and I can't do that until I enable bluetooth in phone. Maybe the phone smart enough to enable bluetooth temporary when I transfer file from phone via bluetooth only. But it will not do that if other party try to transfer file into it.
