BBC article

Online finance service PayPal, which is used by many people on eBay to pay for items, is introducing a security token to tackle fraud.

You pay US$5 for the little device that generates a new code every 30 seconds which is then used in the login process.

I use this with a couple of my internet bankings and it works very well

i dont get how it works

it generates a code every 30 seconds in the same sequence as some software on the paypal server.

when you log in with your username and password you also key the currently displayed number from the token and it must match the value that the paypal server has in order for you to be verified

is the code specific to ur account?
